Best backing track app for your iPad
I’ve been using this app for five years now flawlessly at my shows for backing tracks! Simple to make set lists and use! I haven’t found anything out there like it yet!
For 5 years it was great - latest update killed it.
Version 3.4.2 was superb. Version 3.4.3 (this version) plays tracks but crash closes the instant you tap to open a playlist. Effectively this version is completely useless to anyone.
Nice Easy app
I bought this to while away the time during lockdowns etc and loaded a bunch of my own Kara files on. Everything works fine, it’s not a flash professional desk, but a nice easy to use Kara app for home.
Organized theives
What a pile of junk. After they get their money then they dump on me time to play more money if you want our songs. We been blocked at using our own songs for their garbage. Not worth two cents....
Limited lyrics
I bought grinta because it says it plays midi files and MP3’s with lyrics but will only display lyrics with embedded files. Will not play files with .txt or .rtf files and you can’t import lyrics either.
When you have 1000’s of files without embedded lyrics, it’s pretty useless...
When contacted the developer, they said there is no plan to display .txt or .rtf files in the future.
If you’re looking for a playback app which will display these files, this is NOT the app..

Very Misleading
Very misleading and expensive song service that has very few North American songs. Great APP terrible service
Frustrating
I have purchased this App but cannot link it to iTunes to access my existing library. Waste of money
Fantastic app and great support
We have been looking for a suitable iPad app to reduce the amount of kit we take on live gigs for backing track playback that supports synchronised lyrics and key changes.
Grinta Karaoke Pro is almost perfect in this regards except we found that after importing our extensive library of MP3+G tracks, a lot of the tracks have long silent introductions which are problematic in a live situation. Our previous application, KJams running on a Mac Book Pro would automatically detect the lead in silence or allow a manual start point to be set and skip right to the start of the music. Grinta support have been extremely helpful but unfortunately have no plans to support this feature anytime soon. To get around this we have spent many many hours manually editing the MP3 files, regenerating the Lyrics into LRC files and merging this into the MP3 file.
However we now have everything prepared including the playlists and did our first live gig entirely with Grinta Karaoke Pro last night, albeit with the laptop on standby! All went very smoothly being able to quickly move through the track lists and playlists with ease.
Grinta have been very responsive when emailing them for assistance and advice and therefore I highly recommend this app. They have also promised to fix minor bugs etc in a future release. However, that auto silence detection or manual start point setting would make this app perfect.

Awesome app
This is a very helpful app specially for those who using ipad as a tool for performing, but i hope that they can update and put a background audio, i noticed it stop the midi or mp3 everytime you using another apps, but for review this is awesome app.
I really like this app
Unfortunately, after 6 emails to support I am unable to renew my subscription although I have attached a copy of my paid ITunes invoice along with each message. I have not received any correspondence from support or the developer. Up until 6 days ago I was using the application a minimum of 3 times per week while performing at senior citizen and VA Hospital events. This has been very disappointing and frustrating. My next step is contacting ITunes problem resolution services. Any suggestions?

Great app!
I would give 5 stars but there are two issues if they can be addressed : #1 the expander is not easly available in the states . I tried googling and none of the popular places have it like guitar center, and local musical equipment suppliers. Tigar Direct nor Best Buy carries it . #2 you are limited to just the memory space on the ipad as far as using your own music is concerned. They have external wireless hard drive now for the ipad and I have one and the program will not use the external space . Solve these two problems then I really say it's worth buying.

App review
I purchased and was unable to import songs into the song list. It was stuck on importing in process. Also unable to rotate screen.
Good but not quite there
The app advertises as displaying chords. Unless the midi is purchased from within the app, the midi file chord display does not function. Most standard midi files are not programmed with that information embedded. Also, the key information is almost always incorrect. Support will only tell you that you have to buy their midi files to get the chord features....somewhat disappointed. I can only hope for future updates. One nice feature is that you can have mp3, mp3+g, and midi files in a playlist.

What a waste of money!!!
I thought this app would be great to use at live gigs - I downloaded the Home version to try it but the Home version doesn't have any of the feautres that interested me. I was keen to see how the editing worked and the chords. So I decided to spend the large sum of money that it costs for bought the pro version - only to find out those feautres ONLY work with midi files. That is not stated on their app site anywhere. Unless you use midi - dont bother.

Fantastic !
This is a great app. The tracks sound fantastics with my GM midi expander and timing is perfect. The interface is smooth and very intuitive, and the options like muting melody tracks and key changes are immediately accessible.
The only thing missing is in app purchases or downloads from my songservice account.
