Good app so far! Just a feature request

It would be very helpful if when making groups it grayed out students who were already placed in other groups so you would quickly be able to see who still needs to be placed.

Thanks for this suggestion! We currently indicate students that are in the current group so that the teacher cannot re-add them to the same group. I'd follow up on adding some indication of students in other groups so as to prevent adding a student to multiple groups by mistake. Expect the app update soon. Hello, I responded to you via email, but I thought I'll follow up here. First I would like to apologize for the super late response on behalf of the team here at GRo. Customers trust is of utmost importance to us and I would like to apologize for not meeting up to that standard. Second, I would like to explain why it took too long to respond. GRo has recently got a new owner. My name is Fortune and I recently (in the middle of August) acquired the app after realizing it had been left idle by the previous owners for a long time. I understand the value this app brings to teachers and by extension their students and the students' parents. And so, I am currently going through the previous support emails to ensure I respond to every person that wasn’t responded to. Third, after seeing your support email dated October 23rd 2021, I immediately got to fixing the issue that caused the crash. Because it had been too long, I didn’t have access to the logs and so I had to make some intelligent guesses of the cause of the crash. Good news is, I believe I fixed it! I put out an update in the apple store a few days ago. If you update your app or re-download it, you should find the issue fixed. If it isn’t fixed, please send us an email and we will get to it! If for any reason Apple attempts to charge you again, please let me know and I would give you a promo code that would enable you to download it for free! I hope you can give GRo another chance to delight you and your students in this new academic year. Cheers

Great app for tracking lesson plans and assessments. It saves me a ton of time. Being able to generate reports and send lesson plans is really convenient also. Keep up the great work!

Perfect app for the class room

I've been using this app a lot to track groups within my class. You can create and track students for any subject and add notes in text, picture or audio. Having my class, groups, calendar, assessments, lesson plans all in one place is super convenient. I love the stop watch on lesson plans also! I plan on using the audio feature for recording readings and the graphed assessment results for parent-teacher meetings in the fall. One question - is there a way to customize the order in which students appear in a class?👍👍

Awesome App!

This app has won me over. The best $10 I’ve ever spent! The assessments and note tracking features are excellent. I love that the app lets you generate and email a pdf on a student. You can also duplicate then edit a lesson plan instead of creating one from scratch which saves time. You can quickly take student notes right on the lesson plan also. It really does save a bunch of time and paper. Keep up the good work!

So far so good!

This app just keeps getting better...I just discovered two buttons at the top. One lets you generate and send a pdf email to the student. The other lets you share or send a student with another user. So far so good!

We are happy to hear you are enjoying the app! Yes, we added the pdf feature so educators have the ability to send parents a report on a given student. We added the send or share feature for cases where a student has multiple teachers. Each teacher can access and update the shared students data. The Send feature enables a teacher to send a student from one teacher to another. Thank you for using GRō.

Good app but needs some improvement

I love being able to group my students on an app but I think the app needs some improvement. First, I wish it would automatically alphabetize student names in order, either by first name or last name. Being able to group them myself is fine, but I also wish there was an option for automatic grouping by reading level or by the “red, yellow, green” system. I’m looking forward to any improvements the developers might add.

Thank you for your input and purchase. GRō is designed based off teacher feedback so we always appreciate this type of input. Our goal is to continue to build exactly what teachers want. Just a little background: we observed many teachers just like to just enter a student’s first name, so we opted to make a student’s 'Last Name' an optional choice. We also found that teachers we worked with wanted the ability to customize the order in any way they see fit. We noted a common theme was to have students who needed extra support listed at the top of the class. To accommodate this, we added the ability to drag and drop any student within a class so the ordering can be customized in any manner needed. For this just hold a finger on a student’s name within the class view and drag. Good but could be better

There are so many things that I love about this App. However, I wish I could use my Apple Pencil and it included running record forms.

Beyond Glitches...

I am sad to leave this reading, but I believe it is necessary.

The developer has been fantastic in responding to my request for a fix, but the fix has never been permanent. Each month my Apple account is charge for my monthly premium subscription, and then the following month I seem to be locked out and it does not recognize me as a subscriber.

I need to uninstall and reinstall all the app every single month.

For all of the useless that I get from it in other ways this is not worth the continued support if they cannot fix small bugs like this.

With the release of version 5.0, we have removed the subscription functionality that was leading to this problem. Now all users have access to all features. No more uninstalling and re-installing. How to cancel the subscription!

Can somebody please tell me how to cancel the subscription to this app?
I had try in vain. I want to get rid of this app. I don’t want to keep paying for something I can’t use.

Very sorry to hear about the problem. However, the good news is that there is no need to cancel your subscription. With the release of version 5.0 there is no longer subscription functionality. You have access to all features and there is nothing to cancel. If you don’t want to use the app, all you need to do is uninstall. Almost perfect

I love this app. I wish when groups changed you didn’t lose notes on students. It would be nice if there were The general Notes you write, but then I’d love separate running notes for all the subjects to stay.

I also cannot find a way to list my kids in ABC order by last name...right now it is just by how they were entered.

I also wish the developer email worked. It comes back invalid.

Amazing!

I love this app!!!! I use it DAILY and recommend it to everyone! I work at a data driven school and this app is an amazing way to track all sorts of data for reading, writing, & math. I use it to track reading levels, writing levels, fluency, math facts, etc. I also love writing anecdotal notes during small groups without wasting paper. Another amazing feature is the graphs that are generated from the data you input, and the ability to print, email, or share this data. YOU NEED THIS APP!

Great app for guided reading

I use this for a lot of my small groups and guided reading. It is a great longitudinal pipeline for monitoring student progress. When my students level up it instantly graphs their progress. I can take photos, make notes, etc. I simply didn’t want another 3 ring binder full of papers. Convenience101

Fantastic app

Totally recommend this app if you want to reduce the time and effort it takes to set up groups. Have been using for years and has proven itself with the ease of use, consistent development, and brilliant, friendly support team. Planning is a breeze, with the ability to easily refer to prior year's plans and titles. Need for individual support is easily recognised with at a glance data referencing. I'm at the point where I'd be lost without it. The added feature of sight word incorporation will be a major benefit with lower school planning. Worth every cent.

So upset with the changes

I bought this app about a year and a half ago for $9.99. Once downloaded, I saw it really wasn’t worth the $10. The only thing it will track and graph is the student’s reading level. I kept using it anyway and I used the notes feature to track student’s fluency, accuracy rate, and comprehension scores from their running records. But it would be nice to be able to graph all those features. The notes and graph were useful for when I wanted to look at one specific student’s data over a period of time to decide whether a student needed to proceed in more intensive intervention. Now I’m opening the new app after receiving an email about the update. One of my groups is missing, and now I have to click separate tabs to see information about the student, instead of all on one page like before. The new graph style is much more difficult to see and read, and no longer shows the class average for comparison. And on top of all that, you’re telling me I will now have to pay $30 a year for this poorer version of an app I already feel I overpaid for? No thank you, good bye!

There were a variety of reasons for changing the layout. Great app-missing something

I really want to give this 5 stars. It has almost all the pieces I need to make it my all in one tool. I so wish there was a way to utilize my Apple Pencil with this app and take running records right on the app and attach them to the student notes. Also a recording feature to record students as they are reading would make this app even more powerful!

Great app to organize groups and notes

I just bought this app today and I am so excited to use for my groups. I have struggled to find a way to organize reading groups that works best for me. I want the ease of taking notes about students right on the lesson plan but also the convenience of having all notes about one student on one page so I don’t have to flip around for grading and conference purposes. This app is the perfect solution for that. I also love the assessment feature that utilizes a graph to track progress across time. I am looking forward to being able to print this information to share with families or to be able to use during Data team meetings. It will easily allow me to show students progress or areas of concerns. The customer service is great as well. They are quick to answer questions.
