Great app, active development

This app is fantastic so far! It’s the only one I’ve found that covers all my wishes - uploading receipts, categorizing items (including subcategories, currently in beta but working really well!), breaking down my spending, and helping me track prices over time. It does have a shopping list function too, which includes letting you add items from your previous purchases.

It doesn’t try to be everything at once - no “save all your recipes and plan your meals and clip coupons” - it just focuses on doing what it does as well as possible.

The developer is also super responsive and it’s clear they’re putting a lot of time and energy into the app. It’s under active development, which is a definite plus. Overall, I recommend this one if you’re trying to rein in your grocery spending. (Except now I know exactly how much I’m spending on Diet Coke each month…ignorance might have been bliss on that one!)

Response from developer

Thank you, this genuinely made my day. Keeping it focused is the whole plan - receipts, categories, spending and price history done properly instead of ten half-finished features. Subcategories are getting polished based on feedback like yours. And sorry about the Diet Coke reveal - the app only reports, it doesn't judge. More coming soon!

Very pleased

I’ve only scanned 2 receipts so far, along with one manual entry, and I will be subscribing. This app has everything I need, and the developer has been very quick and helpful with my questions.

Response from developer

Thank you so much for the kind words! It's great to hear the app already has everything you need after just a couple of scans and I'm always happy to answer questions, so don't hesitate to reach out anytime. Welcome aboard, and happy tracking!

Eine super App

Die App war genau das, was wir gesucht haben um unsere Lebensmittelausgaben zu kontrollieren. Aktuell wirkt sie noch etwas vibecoded, ich hoffe der Gesamteindruck verbessert sich mit der Zeit

Response from developer

Response from developer

Merci beaucoup ! Bonne chasse!

User friendly

Easy to use, clean-user friendly design. Will be using to track increasing grocery prices

Thanks

Thanks for building the app. I would recommend checking out Apple’s foundational models for on device scanning for free. There’s a great blog from Ramp on their engineering blog that talks about how they’ve built receipt scanning using Apple. I’m leaving a review to bump up my free scans limit to 50 scans, but it’d be great if all your users can have option to use the free unlimited scans and you can collect payment for advanced graphs etc

Response from developer

Hey, thank you for the kind and detailed review! 🙏 We did read the Ramp post - it's a great write-up. The honest reason we're not going that route: GroceryTracker runs on both iPhone and Android, and Apple's on-device models are iPhone-only, so it would leave a big chunk of our users out. We also looked closely at the accuracy side, and that approach doesn't beat what our current scanning already delivers - so switching would actually be a step back on quality. On free scans: we keep a close eye on usage data, and right now 15 scans a month comfortably covers the vast majority of our users. That said, we hear you - we're looking at raising the free limit to 30 to give everyone more headroom. Thanks again for taking the time, and for the 5 stars - it genuinely means a lot.
