I’ve bought the app

I’ve bought this app, and I have NO access to any feature, the metronome. I’m sure there’s a glitch happening. However, there’s no way of contacting anyone seems like!

A bit buggy

Awesome idea WHEN IT WORKS !!! Sometimes the sounds default to one lame sound only

This has changed my practice for the better!

I reviewed this app in its early days, and the latest release has compelled me to review it again. The Pro features that have been added are simply astounding for the professional and aspiring musician. The ability to create and manage set lists, and then share them via email or text message is a godsend. Some new banks have been added, and they are even better than the first batch! Can’t say enough good things about it!

Best metronome app for drummers right here!

I use this app for myself for practice as well as with students where I teach. I can’t recommend it enough! The students LOVE it. It makes working on things WAY more fun and productive. I only wish that they would produce more music packs to buy more frequently. I would buy them! SUCH a great app!

Response from developer

Remember that the volume being sent to Bluetooth is also subservient the overall volume on your phone. There have been no code or content changes in Volume output for several revisions now. Also ensure to manually refresh the two volume sliders (click and groove) even if the display shows them at full. If you have any more trouble (which is unusual!) please direct your communication to support@grooveclix.com and we'll work with you to resolve your issue ASAP PS - I should also note that going to the EQ page and raising all the sliders will give you a substantial (almost 24db) boost in overall output.

Not sure what to

I did a trial version of this on an older phone of mine and really liked it. I have a newer phone now and downloaded the basic version or lite. It’s only a click. Without the subscription, I would probably not use this as there are other metronomes available that will do the exact same thing. Perhaps something is not working correctly, the only option is a basic metronome with the same click sound. The app allows you to select different things, but the basic click is all that ever plays. There’s no indication that you need to upgrade or subscribe to access that feature.

Not accessible in disappointing

I have heard such great things about this app, but when I downloaded it and attempted to use it, unfortunately this app is not accessible with VoiceOver on my iPhone. I only know of one accessible metronome app and unfortunately this is not one of them.

I love this! But….

What would make it even more awesome - if the ramp option could keep cycling back to the start automatically.
Eg start at 80bpm increase 15 every 8 bars up to 200 then after 8 bars loop back to the start automatically. I can’t find any metronome to do this and don’t want to have to load and program a sequencer on my phone 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

BEST METRONOME

Nothing to write about it! Just the PERFECT metronome

Groove volume unavailable

It's a great idea and the videos make you want to use it, but in the demo version I downloaded it's simply impossible to adjust the volume of the Groove (or the music, in fact).
So I end up with a simple metronome like there are loads of them all over the place. I don't know whether it's a restricted or limited version. I found the interface very attractive, but not very intuitive, with various suggested tariffs from which you don't really know what to choose, as the basic version only offers tempo. I'm not going to spend hours trying to adjust the volume.
Then again, my phone has the biggest screen.

Past purchases invalid

I’ve purchased various elements in the past for a total of around 30$ (it used to be e.g. 10 bucks for this, 10 bucks for that). Now they seem to have changed to a subscription model and I can’t access any of the functions. It’s as if I payed all that money for absolutely nothing. Restoring doesn’t work, it just throws me back to the subscription page. I used to recommend this app to my students but getting scammed in this manner is really quite bitter. Loved the app, the different options like mega diddles and accents used to be a lot of fun but I’m not paying twice. Who knows if I subscribe and then a week later you guys change your model and ask for more money?? So unfortunately, one star, no more recommendations and no more usage of the app. I guess I’m not getting my money back either.

For anyone looking to buy this, the app is cool but hey who knows you might get scammed into paying multiple times for the same product. Absolutely unacceptable

Great metronome

Use this for several different applications. I see the pro subscription doesn’t include all the groove libraries like I thought. You need to purchase those individually. I thought they came with the subscription. It’s still a decent app I lost my stuff again. Keeps going to week free is up but I’m a paid subscriber?

Response from developer

That's not quite right. Only the MegaDiddles and Accents Pro (the ones aimed at professional drummers and teachers) are separate purchases. All the other grooves are included in the subscription price. We're thrilled that you like MegaDiddles and Accents Pro. They both took several months to create in consultation with some of the world's A-List drummers. It's meticulous and time-consuming work involving several individuals, and it doesn't happen in a vacuum. For more information, see the FAQ section of out website. http://www.grooveclix.com/faq/#mega_accents also note that when you update the app to a new version, the free trial is enabled again. This is to give existing users a sample of the features that they may no be using. After the trial period, you will automatically revert to whatever subscription you have already enabled. Your subscription is still there, but you have a week of bonus!

Extraordinary

From day one, this app has changed and improved the way I study, with immediately noticeable results

Disappointing

I’m a musician and long time iOS developer. I really wanted to like this app because I really like Jay (and Dave) as a musician, but it falls short. First, a ‘Pro’ subscription isn’t enough to access all of the content. For $4 per month, I don’t want to be squeezed for additional libraries. So it feels like a bit of a cash grab.

The app functions as advertised, but the UI is just terrible. It looks like a (bad) 90s graphic design project. There is no state saving. Regardless of how much time I spend configuring the app, it resets every time I reopen.

There are a few smaller UX issues that could use improvement. Here is one example, if I set a tempo ramp to increase 4bpm every 2 bars, and I start at 82bpm and end at 100bpm, the app never gets to 100bpm. It stops at 98bpm. Yes, if you add 4 to 82 4x you’ll get 98. But I chose 100 for a reason. There are a few ways to handle this behind the scenes. Is this terrible? No. Just a bit annoying.

With improvements to the UX/UI and a better in-App purchased plan, I’d reconsider this. But for now, I’m moving on.

We appreciate the feedback about state saving, and that feature has been implemented in the next release.

Version gratuite

Bonjour cette application a l’air vraiment très utile et amusante mais il m’est impossible de lancer le metronome avec la version gratuite.

monthly GC pro charge with Max in place

I made the 1-time purchase on GC Max but still got monthly bill for GC pro. Did not notice it until 3 months passed. Please fix this bug. Thanks.

Too much spam

Interesting take on a metronome, but the spam via notifications is unacceptable. Disabling notifications for this app now!

Needs work

It would of been a great app,
But, it has many bugs
Crashes a lot

Best app for drum practice!!

Love this app and whoever developed it think it’s such a cool concept and quite a unique product in a drumming world where there’s definitely a demand for this and nothing else really like it. Awesome!!

I have one query for the developers, which is why is the app size so huge and why does it appear to keep getting bigger?
At first it was around 900MB
(already very large for a metronome app) but every time I check back it’s larger and now it’s at 1.9GB. Is this normal or possible to change?
Would love to keep it but fear I may have to switch to an inferior app just so I can keep using my phone to text people🤷‍♂️
