Godly and glitchy

Love the contents and the heart of the ministry but the latest iteration misses the mark. It is much more difficult to find content, series do not track properly so when you exit before finishing all 13 lectures it is wonder of sovereignty where the series picks up. Most often, it lays again the foundations from lecture 1. In the past I had easy access to content and consistent progress through a series. That is gone and is a deterrent to use the app at all.

New Design

I update the app and honestly the way to search for example the sermons of the Gospel in chronological way is no more available. It more difficult to look for. The previous design probably does not have modern look, but was well more structure to find and search.

Response from developer

We just completed a live update to make sermons easier to browse. Relaunch the app, visit the Explore page and scroll down to find "Sermons by R.C. Sproul".

Great app

Fantastic teaching, and a wonderful resource!

A few things I wish we could see happen:
- when you go to an author you cannot search by media type so I have to scroll through all the articles before reaching anything else- very inconvenient.
- would love for there to be some sort of system that shows you what you have already read/listened to/ watched.

Wish I could actually use it

God bless you all. This app needs fixed. Often one can’t open it without it crashing, when this happens one has to delete the app (with all of your downloads) reinstall and log in again. While this is an app breaking bug, there are many smaller, QoL issues that Ligonier should have no problems fixing in this day and age. Many have been listed by other reviewers so I wont reiterate them all here.
Just know that this app needs an overhaul if you at Ligonier seek to properly educate and equip God’s people who ourselves seek to spread His light and truth. With no malice in my heart I tell you to fix this app, for sake of all of us who use it for education and evangelization. God bless you all- A Christian

App Crashes

The content is unparalleled but the app crashes if you overstock your downloads. If you reload the app, you lose your downloads. I’d rather have a cap on the downloads the have to reload the app consistently. Great material though.

Random sign-ins

I’ve used this app for years and only in the last 12 months or so has it become a nuisance to use. Almost (but not quite) daily logins, even after having logged in and having the app running in the background. Sometimes I get error messages that the app isn’t able to save progress. And least of the first world problems I’ll mention is not putting today’s message at the top. I don’t need what I heard yesterday at the top on a mobile app. Put daily resources on top and resume your study under it - both don’t fit without a slight scroll and on the go it’s a nuisance. Keep the content though!

Crashes & closes

Ligonier App crashes and closes 2,3, or 4 times each time I try to use it. I very much appreciate WRG’s most excellent teaching on church history, though.

No More Bible Access

This app just forced an update on me and the new version no longer has a full-text Bible, which seems like a grievous omission given Ligonier’s mission.

Feature Requests

While the Ligonier app is useful for watching sermon series, a few features would make the experience far more engaging. Most importantly, Dark Mode & Widgets (e.g., a 2x2 widget showing the currently-watched video/series). If these changes land, I would gladly increase my rating. For bonus points, please add native support for Apple Vision Pro.

App needs improvement

For access to Reformed content, Ligonier Ministries is top-notch. But the app crashes a lot.

What About the Poor?

RC Sproul is one of my go to theologians for deep bible study, but Ligonier’s requirement that you subscribe and pay a minimum of $30/mo just to access his teaching is not right. I believe we should VOLUNTARILY contribute to ministries in order for them to operate, but this “pay-to-play” approach Ligonier management has implemented is at best in poor taste and at worst denies the poor full access to Dr Sproul’s valuable teaching.

My review

Great app! Easy to use. One suggestion: please allow users to SLOW DOWN the audio sermons. Some of the speakers speak way too fast.

App stops working randomly

About every other month or so I’ll try to open the app to listen and find that the app just refuses to open or if it does at all it’s only for a second and promptly closes. I’ve been unable to get around this and ultimately must delete app and start over. This I lose all my downloads. I’m using Apple operating system. Any idea why this happens or what I can do?

iPhone 18.x has broken the app

I use the Ligonier app nearly every day, for devotionals, study, preparation, etc… yet as of iPhone 18.x (currently 18.6.2) the app crashes when it starts up. I have not seen any update or patches for the app. Are you currently aware of this issue and are you working to resolve it?

Praise God!

Love the content on here, especially RC Sproll’s sermons.

Best App for Sound Christian Content

Ligonier is at the forefront of providing content, not just of reformed theology, but of the essentials of the faith. The app itself is visually appealing, has a friendly user interface, and provides easy access to watch, listen, and read on any subject of theology. Any believer, whether they consider themselves reformed or not, would benefit a great deal by downloading and using this app on a daily basis.

App crashes constantly

Currently the app is unusable because it crashes every time I open it.

Please fix the app

When I open this app it closes abruptly after just 10 seconds. Please fix the app.

Love this APP!!

I love how accessible resources are not only for personal study but when discipling others. The app is solid and again I love it!
