Geotagging

Unlocks support for geotagging

User reviews

Highly recommended for every GR3 owner

The best geotagging solution for GR3 and GR3x

Perfect. Better than Ricoh junk app

This app does just what it says. Quietly and accurately with minimal fuss and battery usage.

Preferable to Image Sync

This app works flawlessly with my GR IIIx automatically enabling the iPhones location service when the camera is turned on and disabling it when the camera is turned off. This is much better than Image Sync which leaves the location service on regardless of whether the camera is on or off. It still has to be running in the background to work but you no longer need to remember to close it.

Works great with GR IIIx and III HDF

Excellent almost dummy-proof app and the BT connection and location mapping is very “sticky” when one turns on the cameras. Location syncing also worked while running both my IIIx and III HDF at the same time.

It does take a second to lock the location after your turn on the camera, but it’s significantly better than Ricoh’s Image Sync (which frequently loses location sync if the camera or phone goes to sleep even if you have the background location transmission to have no time limit).

Two things to note:

1) Make sure to follow the “?” guide on the app and not have your Bluetooth Action Mode on the camera set to Always On or the camera will not turn off if you power it off (it’s takes 2+ presses to turn it off).

2) If you use Ricoh’s Image Sync to transfer photos, you’ll need to fully close out GRPS and turn off your camera to sync, then start up Image Sync and then the camera to transfer photos.
