Super detailed for a free game

GS4: an amazing game with lots of potential.

Hello! I am giving this a five star review because a little bit of things I have wanted for a while have been put! It doesn’t kick me out as much. And some planes have been unlock able with the nice Silver Coin currency! They have nice damage models, and crazy detail in the cockpits! But even though the graphics are good, at the time I write this, graphics in more popular mobile games have a bit better graphics. The cities and towns look so stupid. The cities barely have any buildings. No trees, no shops, and stuff. And they have no variety in different buildings. In the big cities, put some skyscrapers and put in some buildings with some logos on them. Make some parks, and some memorials from the time. And I do still wish there will be more planes. I do view the Phanotek youtube channel, so I see how things are going. That glitch where my stats disappear randomly still is here, and I hate it. It makes me look like a new player who only joined yesterday. The models of the aircraft look amazing, but I hope they add the cool helicopters again. Maybe this will be one of the games where we could rescue downed pilots. The last time we were able to do this was Gunship III. I can’t wait for more planes, like the F-4G, or the F-117A. I am not sure how you will make stealth planes, as there will be a lot of brand new game mechanics towards that. I still want more new countries, and new campaigns. In conclusion, this game has very good graphics, amazing attention to detail, and sometimes frequent updates. I do support the game very, very much, and i hope you can make this game a lot better for all of us.

Thank you for reading this.

Sick

Sick add more planes

I hope this grows into something awesome.

I played a couple of different fighter jet mobile and pc games so i know what makes a good sim lite fighter jet game. Ive been following the dev blog hoping it would replace armed air forces and offer something a bit more realistic. Unfortunately in its current state it falls short of expectations. Performance is poor, graphics does not look good in the age of 2026, and and jet control feel is almost there. I haven’t played to much but first impressions matter. I’ll continue reading dev blogs and come back to this game when there’s meaningful updates. I’ll update my review if things change.

why

Why pay to win. make everything free.

Wrong direction in development. (updated)

I had really high hopes for this game to follow along the route of gunship 3 in terms of just pure flight sim. This game requires real money spent on aircraft which I can easily accept and I’m sure those who like flight sims can agree. But I’m confident when I say the best part about flight sims is that before flight, the player is free to set up the conditions and components of their aircraft. The dev choice to buy and maintain armament completely ruins the experience of “SIM” and punishes the player for using ordinance that would otherwise be a core experience of a combat sim. Not to mention that if no one says anything this could easily be taken advantage of in the future. So I say this as a lover of sims is to free the player’s conscious from worrying about the usage of weapons that SHOULD be a core component of flight sims, and let us enjoy the simulator you guys have spent for so long to get out here. There’s already plenty of ways for the devs to gain money through aircraft and subscriptions (Reminder that playing offline requires a subscription), and using in game currency to buy armament just makes little sense in a simulator that already has so much freedom.

Silver is usable! But there are flaws…

Edit: Hello! Silver is usable now! I can finally use the silver to get my jets! The new modes are good, but please bring back arcade mode. Don’t replace it because it was really good. Another flaw is the lag that goes on. When the new update came, the game lagged more, and kept kicking me out. The last thing I want to discuss are my stats. For people who don’t know, you click the button with the pilot, and it shows how much planes you downed, ground targets destroyed, etc. And when the game lags, it kicks me out. Then when I log in, my stats are wiped. I re-log in, and it is still wiped. I have to re-grind all of my stats all over again. I hope this can also be fixed. Then, how you randomly die by getting shot down on the base capture mode. They give no warnings, then you just die. Especially if I have to go CAS and destroy enemy SAM sites. Other than that, I like the game, but until all of that is fixed, I will give it a well deserved 5 star rating, and maybe even spend money. Yes it is a lot, but this will improve the game.

Hello readers and developers! I really like this game. It is really awesome and here are my reasons. It has high graphics, fun gameplay, detailed cockpits, and more! But I have just one problem. The game is entirely pay to win. You need money to buy gold, and the silver currency is actually useless. You cannot buy any planes in the game with silver. Yes, the A-10 and Mig-21 are awesome planes, and I really like them. I really hope future updates allow the silver to be useable and more maps, and planes will be included. And hopefully a new country, like Russia!

Long Time Follower

I’ve been a big fan of Phanotek games for a long time, especially since the original Gunship III era. When I say this is simultaneously one of the best, one of the most accurate, and yet one of the most simplistic flight simulators out there, I truly feel as if it is. I acknowledge the current version is an early access, and while there are some features (such as the need to purchase individual armaments,) that I am not the fondest of, while others like the full interactivity of the cockpit is immaculate. Great game, would rate an additional sixth star if I could, already recommended it to my friends! P.S. Please don’t make have to buy an AIM-9

Mobile DCS?

After the recent update, which made more aircraft available for free to play players, I’ve been spending a ton of time working out each aircraft. Some of the aircraft cockpits are very lacking compared to the a-10. I highly recommend this game to people looking for air combat simulation on mobile

Writing as of the introduction of the new shop

I would give the game 5 stars if it wasn’t for the new weapon shop.

For anyone reading this, the recent update introduces a new shop mechanic that the player can spend in game currency to restock their weaponry (silver, bronze, and gold).

Pricing is fair. That’s because the rewards really well for both online pvp and single player (which I primarily play on). My concern would be if the devs somehow make the rewards underwhelming that I have to spend gold currency (which can only be acquired through real money) instead of the silver and bronze.

Hopefully they won’t resort to the concerns that I’ve mentioned as the game, like I mentioned previously, is balanced in terms of restocking weaponry.

To the devs: please don’t make any plans of depleting weaponry when I’m shot down without firing them. But you guys are doing well and this is my favorite game as we speak.

Waste of time

You can’t even get off the ground until you buy additional credits to get the jet, missiles and other items.

Great game but multiplayer missions crash my game

My game just won’t start on any multiplayer mission, and even the training mission creator, idk if it’s a phone issue (iPhone 13 recently repaired) or a game issue because GS3 and CLHD multiplayer work just fine??

Great game, but…

Amazing game but I feel you like you shouldn’t need to spend real money to get the planes you desire to play, some type of real progression would transform this game into top 10 mobile game material.

Great Bones, Paywall Ruins it

Overall the mechanics and everything are great but everything being behind a paywall ruins it, I hate the fact that your locked to one aircraft. I get you guys gotta make money but atleast make a couple premium aircraft and keep most aircraft free

An issue I would like to address.

Impressed

Amazing game and addictive for sure. Technical tutorials (readable or videos) would help significantly. Explanation of missiles and munitions in game would be helpful. Radar lock is very confusing to use, and half the time you don’t know who you have exactly locked on to, especially in the mig25. I keep accidentally locking onto friendlies and I get a message Ive been reported even though its not intentional at. At least put visible marker on who you are locked onto so you don’t mistakenly friendly fire.

joystick mode

i really love this game its really cool and realistic but theres just one thing i cant play it well without a joystick and i find it really hard to play with gyro so if you could add a joystick option that would really be great since it would make it an easier experience

b

it’s a rly good game tbh. graphics are good i love the modern desert storm but one problem, at least make some planes xp unlock because im not tryna spend any money on games and only way to get gold is buy buying it. and plus we earn xp for nothing cuz theres no xp unlock planes like in arcade im in a mig21 going against an f15. but overall its a solid game

Very good game

It is a good game but I am hoping in the near future that you will implement an f2p way of unlocking aircraft as I would love to get the mig-25

I’m no longer a Phanotek customer. Phanotek deserves to go bankrupt.

This game is a very predatory P2W “Live Service” game. You cannot play offline and you get very few aircraft. Even if we were to buy an aircraft, we still can’t play offline without paying a damn subscription on top of the cost of buying a plane.

Get Armed Air Forces instead, it’s a much better game.
