Old App
I don’t know what the deal is, but I LOVE this app. There’s a new one happening, yet this was still active. I downloaded some sermons that are still there, but if I try to download any others, it won’t work. I hope and pray to God that if this new app is poor and if it’s because this ministry isn’t being lead by MacArthur much longer that may the Lord bring us another outlet to supply such rich teaching

GTY Sermons
This is my very favorite app and I love listening to series that play for hours without you having to start the next part every 45 to 60 minutes and I just found out that substash has cancelled it. I am just devastated because I listen to it all day and even have it playing while I’m sleeping. I hope someone will pick it up and offer it again.

Love This App, But Offline Playback No Longer Works Properly
I’ve been a long-time user of the GTY app and absolutely love it. The ability to listen to John MacArthur’s sermons, especially offline, has been a huge blessing. I appreciate the wealth of biblical teaching available at my fingertips.
However, an update a while back has introduced a frustrating issue with offline playback. In a previous version, I could open the app in a no-service area and still access my downloaded sermons without any problems. Now, if I don’t have service or Wi-Fi when opening the app, it either won’t open at all or won’t allow me to play my downloaded sermons. The only way offline playback works now is if I start a sermon while I still have service and then go offline—but that defeats the purpose of downloading sermons in advance for places where I know I won’t have service.
I still love this app and highly recommend it, but I really hope the developers fix this issue so that offline playback works as seamlessly as it did before. For those of us in areas with spotty service, this change makes it much harder to listen consistently if not at all.

My Favorite Bible Teacher
John MacArthur is hands down my favorite Bible teacher. 40+ years of verse by verse expositional sermons on every book of the New Testament and a lot of the Old Testament. Over the last 4 years I’ve listened to every book Pastor John has in the library. I don’t agree with MacArthur 100%, but I find his scholarship unsurpassed. I trust him more than any teacher I have heard.

Excellent.
MacArthur is a great teacher; but the latest app update has made it impossible to access downloaded sermons when offline. Also, management of downloads (en masse deletion) needs to be addressed. Please fix 🙏🏼

Pastor John MacArthur delivers the truth one verse at a time! Thank you Grace to You for staying true to the Word of God and standing strong! Excellent sermons and a huge variety of topics. Can’t thank you enough for this sound teaching!
Awful app.
Doesn’t load devotional half the time. Force crashes every time I try to rewind audio. STUPID APP!!!
Fix you bugs
If you fast forward or rewind the app closes out and you have to find your place again by listening from the beginning. This is absolutely annoying.

So blessed to have discovered this app!! I’ve been listening to John’s MacArthur’s teachings on YouTube but this is amazing… organized by Bible books and themes… what more could I ask for?! God is so good to provide these incredible resources for His people to access sound doctrine wherever you might be. This is truly a treasure and I have a lot of listening to do!! I would also love the option of being able to check off what I listen to, as someone else mentioned. That would help a lot to aid progress instead of trying to remember where you left off. Thank you thank you for this app!!

Bug?
I usually use this app all the time to listen to sermons now it’s just showing up as a Bible but idk how to get to the sermons anymore great app just weird bug April 16 2024 4:50 pm eastern time
Love this app, may I suggest an improvement
In the stream portion can you insert a timer. I listen to this all the time especially in the evening, Admit-tingly I sometime fall asleep and the app remains on waking me. I also play this during the day and when I leave home the app remains on. A timer would make this the perfect App! Keep up the good work.

App has made my life better
I can 95% if the time find supporting scripture sermon when I am doing deeper dives. Pastor John is the best at presenting Gods word in a language I understand.

The GTY app is a blessing!
Thank you for making John MacArthur’s sermons and studies so readily available! I really enjoy digging into God’s word “one verse at a time.” My walk with the Lord is stronger now than it has ever been. Using this app only enhances the benefit of the JMac Study Bible!
**If I might suggest, it would be great if there was a feature to flag messages or studies that I have already listened to, and maybe make the color choice of the “flag” be optional to notate different things, such as sermons already listened to, sermons to listen to, etc. Currently, I write down the name and number of what I’ve listened to and refer to my notes to make sure I don’t repeat a sermon/lesson.

Time for a remodel?
I am really enjoying this app, thank you so much for making it a available it is easy to use.
Could you broaden its abilities however?

I know we can return to the exact place in a message which we previously paused if the app is open, but not if it’s closed down. I would love to be able to return to the message automatically next day even if I have left the app for a few days. It’s frustrating having to go back into the sermons and scrolling to the correct book and then remembering the chapter and then selecting the title again. FAR TOO MANY STEPS. Set us free? 😉
Also, it would be really helpful to have search box so we can type in any subject and be taken to a list of possible matches rather than scrolling endlessly to see if anything fits.

True Word of God
Living in the last days it’s extremely difficult to find sound biblical doctrine! I’m grateful to God to have discovered this bible app and the Ministry of Pastor MacArthur.
Since I’ve downloaded this App.. it has catapulted my faith and desire to grow deeper in the knowledge wisdom understanding and power of God.

Problems of late
This much needed resource performed consistently for over a year. But lately, possibly with the most recent iOS update, the grace stream, no longer plays for consistently, Wi-Fi or cellular, doesn’t matter the device..
Frustrating
Great app and all but I am blind and with voiceover on, it’s not too helpful. It just announces everything as buttons and cant even select books to read
