What's New in Guidera
1.2.2
September 27, 2026
Stories you can trust, now faster Guidera 1.2 changed how your guide learns about a place. Before telling a story, it researches the place in real sources: Wikipedia, Wikidata, Wikivoyage travel guides, OpenStreetMap and official city and heritage websites. Then it tells you what it found, in your guide's voice. New in 1.2.1 • Faster stories: once a place has been researched, its story opens instantly for everyone, not just on the device that researched it first. • One story per place: a place tells the same story whether you tap it on the map, play it on a tour or hear it in Walkman. • A map when there's no street view: places without street-level imagery now show a clean map of where they are. • Clearer screens in dark mode: settings, place pages and tours are now easy to read when your phone is in dark mode. • Fixed: "Manage ad privacy" in Settings now opens your privacy choices. What came in 1.2 • Researched stories: dates, names, architects and legends come from real sources, not guesswork. • Double-checked: every story is checked against its sources before you hear it. • Sources under every story: see where each fact comes from and open the original page. • Honest when little is known: for a small café or a quiet side street, your guide says so and tells you about the neighbourhood and nearby landmarks instead of inventing history. • Richer famous places: big landmarks get fuller stories, with the surprising detail first instead of a textbook summary. • What's around you: nearby landmarks with real distances and directions. • Smarter chat: follow-up questions are answered from the same researched facts. If the answer isn't there yet, your guide looks it up. • Walkman tours: Walkman plays the same researched stories and prepares the next stop's audio before you arrive (Premium). • Better quick facts: the facts panel now shows only well-sourced details. • Tapping a place on the map opens exactly that place. • Fixed an issue where tour audio could read the facts panel aloud. The first time any place is researched, it takes a little longer. After that, it opens instantly.
