Arcade $2.99 to $99.99 Muncher
Psikyo is my favorite shooter developer and Gunbird 2 likely my favorite shooter since getting it on Dreamcast. This is a good port of the game marred by a pricey return to arcade quarter munching via micro transactions. Being forced to watch ads for credits takes you out of the game, and any money spent on crystals is far too much. The game is “free” up until a point, but you may as well delete it when that point arrives and invest in a more stable version of Gunbird 2.
Beyond that, the touch controls for movement work well but the on-screen buttons will obscure your view a bit too much, especially on harder difficulties. I also found Marion getting away from me a bit every few seconds requiring me to readjust my position — character and finger — which result in some unfortunate deaths. Still, nice game while it lasts for a free rounds until the difficulty becomes too much for the small screen and touch controls or you run out of crystals and have the good sense to not entertain micro transactions.

IKR?!? WAAAAAAY greedy!!! I can’t believe these “developers” even spent any time porting this classic game over to the iOS when they were just going to offer it for free with an option to remove ads….
I’ll bet if you Google “definition of greedy”, it’ll just throw up the Mobirix logo across your screen.

No, but really, thank you guys for bringing all these great SHMUPs to the AppStore. It’s been great having all these nostalgic memories flood my brain, AND I finally got to play a couple games I’ve wanted to play for years but couldn’t ever find.
