Home DB Workouts

I have been using the app for about 4 months. I have enjoyed the app. I like that the workouts vary and focus on different body areas and provide the needed challenges.

There are some glitches though that are frustrating. Even when you enter the data for each exercise, it doesn’t always record. At the end of the week, it has you do a summary but you can’t see the info previously entered.

At the end of the first session (67), I just had to start over. There wasn’t a Home DB 2 to go to next

DO NOT MAKE A PURCHASE

I purchased from this company in 2022. I wasn’t thrilled with the product so never re-purchased. And have never re engaged with the company. Fast forward to January 2025 and they charged my credit card $50. I have tried to reach the company to find out what the charge is for. There is no customer service on their website or the app. I finally had to go through my credit card company and cancel my card. Next step the BBB.

Just use AI

This app was solid prior to whatever “fixes” where made. Now it won’t save workouts, can’t move to a new day of workouts, and the colors hide certain options. I found that AI creates a similar plan and I just use Apple notes to track the workouts and then upload it to AI for a new plan. I’m done with habit nest. And I was paying $4.99 a month!!!!!!

Phoenix does not include the App

Great books but to use the App you have to buy an extra subscription, even if you bought the Phoenix version.

Phoenix Opossum & Login nonsense

The logins between the App, the Site, and the Vault are really bad! People, there is a thing called "single sign-on". Please, fix all the login issues. Then, I bought a Phoenix, but I can't use it!!! Why? Because features like the accountability partners (reason why I bought it) require that you "check in" every day. But... you can't check it IF you don't buy an additional subscription to the App!
This is a scam / bad practice!
I am going to ask for a refund of this Phoenix (aka Opossum!).
Please reach out for the details because my list of issues is too long. The books are really nice but the "no paper" experience is awful and the tricky sales of the Phoenix I bad. Don't buy it, if you don't want to buy an extra $$$ subscription!

It could be good

It is an outline of what a good app would do. The app encourages you to do “supersets” but it makes it difficult to flip between muscle groups and when you do it messes up the end tally’s unless you go back and restart the workout. The superset counter also doesn’t have 0 as an option. The difficulty slider for the workout is just broken, it does not slide well and should be replaced with something else. The weights aren’t auto-entered from the last workout so it is tedious to go back and check. Use the printout instead. The videos in the workouts are very helpful and probably the best part of this app.

Too many bugs!

I want to love this. The workout stats do not propagate properly. The “previous best reps” rarely shows but I know I’ve performed the exercise before. Also, the reps do not transfer to the summary page. I have been able to complete all workouts (so far) and have not had issues with the app crashing, but it does not look promising. This is unfortunate as I loved using the home journal (even though I found errors in that too).

Immediately No

I didn’t even get through the account creation process without noticing that the app wasn’t actually filing in my responses. Instead in auto-selected [health and fitness] and [life getting in the way] no matter what I chose. I’m not going to give any more information to a paid app that stumbles at first hurdle. Big red flag

Was great until it stopped working after 3 days

Can’t enter information anymore, the app just crashes

Stopped working after 3 days

Really wanted to love the preset workout habit but after completing the third workout the app wouldn’t accept the information and doesn’t allow you to move on with the habit. So after just 3 days it became useless.

Nothing

I add a habit. Press start & then nothing. ☹️

Wanted to love this app

I had the original gym workout book and loved it. Thought it more convenient to get app and I was excited for it. Something told me to just try a month subscription first. I’m glad I did instead of buying year. At day 3 it’s stopped allowing me to track. Telling me I needed to complete which I did several times. I went in a different way to do day 4 and then would only let me read info and preview. It wouldn’t take any tracking. I reached out twice to support on this because I really want to use app and have yet to hear anything. I ended up taking app off to redownload to see if that helps. Problem is can’t remember password and had to reset. Waiting on 2 hours for reset of password with no response. Very disappointed with this experience.

App keeps crashing

The buttons in the app aren’t working

I am trying to use the app today for the first time. The next and continue buttons do nothing.

More

Needs a next button. When you complete a field, hit next to get to the next field.

Not connected to the Phoenix system they sell

I recently bought one of the work out journals including the whole Phoenix system which they advertise as lifelong access to the work outs. I figured that I would also get the app not realizing I have to pay to use the app even though I just paid to get lifetime access to the workouts online. They are not connected- which is super odd to me and also an extra money grab in my opinion.

Great while it worked

I was using the gym program and enjoying it until I got to workout #34.
The app would not mark it as completed which prevented me from moving forward. Support said they were aware of an issue. Now I’m stalled and can no longer find my copy of the printed book. :(

Great companion to the books.

I love having the app open while I’m also following along on the book. Sometimes I need to glance at the phone for a clearer view of the poses.
- A few bugs in the app:
- I don’t have the little “i” in the top left of each pose to go to a detailed description as it says I should.
- the calendar overview does not correctly reflect all my checkins.
- at the bottom of some pages where you wrote things in you cannot close the keyboard to progress to the “complete” button. I’ve had to hit the back button at the top of page and go forward again.

Overall pleased with the app and system.
I do hope they fix the calendar view.
