No Calorie Tracking

App is a no go for me since it does not allow calorie tracking linked to Apple Health. Like the look. Will continue to use your competitor.

Why no one-time purchase option?

I am not a fan of subscription based applications payment models. It is simply a nonstarter for me and others. I ended up deleting the application as the limitations on the free option are significant. To the point where the application will not be useful for me. It may be prudent to consider a parallel model that supports payment for perpetual use.

Almost perfect for me!

This app is great! The only thing missing for me that would make this app even better would be if it had a feature in which you could see live activity progress from the Lock Screen, such as when you have a goal that is timer-based. It would be nice for when one is going on a timed walk and I can glance from the lock screen how much time is left when pulling my phone out of my pocket (same can be said for the Apple Watch). Otherwise, solid habit tracking app!

The habit building and tracking winner!

Living with ADHD, HabitView stands out from the competition for its current features and what’s to come - this developer is clearly dedicated to continual growth and responsive support.

Buy this app

TL;DR: In a sea of apps intended to create and reinforce good habits, mediocrity dominates. Too confusing, not powerful, non-responsive developers, gouging subscription pricing.

All this to say that HabitView is NONE of those things. I was up and running in minutes. After digging in, I found it could do so much more than merely enabling the user to “maintain the chain”. The app team responded to my query in less than 24 hours. The subscription price is reasonable and … look over there: they offer one-time pricing for “forever premium.”!

Longer review:

If you’re looking at this app, you might feel something has been missing from the myriad of apps designed to help you keep your promises to yourself. This app is incredibly approachable - you can use it out of the gate. It also has some serious power under the hood. Finally, it’s made by a company that is incredibly responsive with customer support and diligent about about creating and pushing out updates.

5-10 years ago, I was snatching up nearly every tracking app I could find. A few bucks here and a few bucks there. I had no idea what was even possible on this thing called an iPhone.

I quickly found what works for me (about 20 apps) and settled on a few apps that varied just enough that I benefited from them all. Then about 6 of my daily-use apps died on me: the developer stopped updating, the added an exorbitant subscription cost without grandfathering existing users, or something else. Well, I used them as long as I could before searching for a replacement.

I really don’t mind paying a reasonable price once for a quality app. For some of my original apps, I’ve “donated” extra money to the developers when I could.

One app removed features and started bombarding all users with incessant ads to upgrade. Many of those upgrades were bogus. The company didn’t respond to polite inquiries. To their credit, they have continued to Update their app - seemingly adding bugs. It had been one of my most useful apps so I hung on as long as I could.

I have no idea how I found this app, but I’m so glad I did. It checks all my boxes and then some.

Well, this is a new app that comes from a company truly committed to making our lives a little bit better. Their subscription pricing is reasonable. But they provide the option for a one-time expense.

I would be surprised if their one-time price - for $30 - lasts more than 6 months.

A lot of compromises

1. Add tasks with timer to live activities
2. Add widgets to the live stack on Apple Watch
3. Choose when the “day” starts to avoid marking tasks done using history

Furthermore, 2 habits on free version is hilarious
