About

HalalWise helps you understand what's really in your food, medicine, and beauty products. Scan a barcode or point your camera at the ingredient list, and see every ingredient classified — halal, haram, mushbooh (doubtful), or unknown — each with a confidence level and the source behind it. HONEST BY DESIGN HalalWise is a screening and lookup tool, not a religious authority. It relays determinations that already exist — official halal certificates and published ingredient references — and analyzes ingredients that don't have them. When a product's status can't be confirmed, it says so plainly ("doubtful — verify") instead of guessing. It never issues religious rulings. WHAT YOU CAN DO (FREE) • Scan food barcodes for an instant verdict • Scan ingredient labels with your camera — works on the back of any package • See every ingredient classified: halal / haram / doubtful / unknown • See a confidence level on every result, and why it's high or low • Tap any ingredient to learn why it has its status • Choose your madhab (Hanafi / Shafi'i / Maliki / Hanbali) and turn on Strict Mode • Keep a history of your scans HOW IT DECIDES • Certified: when a product carries a recognized halal certification, HalalWise shows the certifier and a link so you can verify it yourself. • Ingredient analysis: clearly haram ingredients (pork, lard, alcohol, and more) are flagged; source-dependent ingredients (gelatin, whey, glycerin, mono- and diglycerides, natural flavors, some E-numbers) are marked doubtful — not waved through. • Region aware: product formulas differ by country, so HalalWise warns you when a record may not match your region. PRODUCT DATA Barcode and ingredient data come from Open Food Facts and the USDA FoodData Central database. Ingredient guidance is based on published halal ingredient references. HALALWISE PRO Upgrade for unlimited scans and the full experience. Manage your subscription anytime in your Apple ID settings. IMPORTANT HalalWise is not a substitute for a halal certifier or a qualified scholar, and it does not issue fatwa. "Appears Halal" means our screening found no red flags — not a guarantee. When in doubt, confirm with the manufacturer or a certifier before consuming. SUBSCRIPTION DETAILS HalalWise Pro is an auto-renewable subscription. • HalalWise Pro Monthly — $2.99 per month • HalalWise Pro Annual — $14.99 per year, including a 7-day free trial Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. What's New in HalalWise

1.3.0

August 6, 2026

Every result now tells you why. • Verdicts name the ingredient behind them, not just a label. "Contains pork gelatin" instead of "Haram". • Doubtful now means we genuinely couldn't confirm something — and says exactly what's missing and how to resolve it. • New "Partly checked": nothing of concern found, but some ingredients weren't recognised. Unrecognised isn't the same as doubtful. • Ingredient scanning captures itself once the reading settles — no button needed. You review what the camera read, and can fix a misread, before anything is decided. • Much better ingredient recognition: pork detected inside compound names and in eight languages, additive codes read in every form labels print them (E471, INS 471, plain 471), and source-specified ingredients like "fish gelatin" and "vegetable glycerin" are recognised as such. • Small barcodes (UPC-E) and wholesale case codes now scan properly. • Where recognised schools of law differ, both positions are shown alongside our evidence-based result — never instead of it.
