An Almost Perfect App
I like the setup of this comic book making app. It really makes making comics so easy, but it’s just short of a couple features to being the perfect app.
1) I’d like to have the option to draw within the panels for rough sketches or draw my panels instead of solely relying on photos to fill the pages, maybe even make the drawings a middle layer between the photos and the speech bubbles. Just your typical photoshop tools like the pencil, a vector pen, a fill paint bucket, etc.
2) There should be a tool that lets the user make his own custom pages, like, for example, the user starts of with a single box in a page. Every time they swipe their finger across the box, it divides box into different panels according to the user’s swipe. I’ve seen a similar feature used in another app called “ibisPaint X,” and it’s pretty effective for what it is.
I really hope that y’all take this feedback into consideration for your next update. I enjoy how easy this app makes comic books, and I’d love for it to get better.

I love this app but where’s layout app

App has gone to crap
The first version was better, you don’t have to fight to remove a tone of extra effects that you don’t want, and normal export was easy.
This version has more options but everything is way more difficult to to just basic functions.
Also, there are weird visual glitches interrupting the editing process now.

Does this company still exist?
This app is great. Unfortunately the custom templates are broken, they don’t take me to the app on the store which means it’s been removed. Shame.

I have found this app to be fantastic. While I am still looking for a tool that will allow me to create customised figures this tool has been awesome to allow me to use it for advertising. Comic captions and a whole lot more.
Update: 27th August 2022.
I am finding that lately that when I try to add speech balloons to my strips that it is not allowing to manipulate them. If I try to reposition the tails they disappear and when I try to move the balloon. It also disappears.

Oh please update this app … it’s SO much better than the new one. Honestly, I would buy it again 100 times!
Suggestions
I use Halftone 2 quite a bit. I enjoy creating hopefully funny cartoons to post on Facebook. On my most recent piece, I realized there was a way to to block text without a white box. A nice tool as it allows my artwork to not be completely obliterated by boxes and text. Would be nice if there was a speech balloon and thought balloon that also did that. While I was in Photos looking at both the original and the Halftone 2 versions, I noticed that the file size for Halftone 2 was much smaller than the original. Not a problem for online posting but if I wanted it printed up large, I’m sure it would be an issue. Very fun app though.

Needs an update!
This app hasn't been updated since iOS 12. It crashes when accessing text in both the border and the word balloon panes, which makes it useless. Please update it. I love its esthetic.
wonderful app run amuck
the original version of this app was fantastic. super easy to use to get a stylized comic card in just a few mins. this new version is hideous in comparison. i have no idea how to reproduce the comic card that used to take me just a few mins! at least let old timers select a template that reproduces the original comic card. extremely disappointed and frustrated.

I have Halftone 1 - a fantastic and super easy to use app for getting a comic book effect. It keeps crashing now. So I bought Halftone 2 - operating it is like trying to unlock a riddle within a mystery. And I’m a photo app geek. And now the graphics are lame too. BAD

Used to be so easy to create a cartoon in v1 from an image but this now over complicated version is rubbish. Refund requested.
Bring back the original version.
The original ‘Halftone’ app was nice, quick and simple to use before you launched a paid upgrade. To justify the price of the upgraded ‘Halftone 2’ app, you did throw a lot of unnecesary bells and whistles at the user, making the app clumsy and cumbersome. The simplicity and the ergonomics of the older [original] version were highly appreciated.
