Good, but buggy
My settings reset each time I close the app, the quick launch from the lock screen doesn’t work, super annoying

I purchased Halide 1, but I couldn't upgrade to Halide 2.
Now I still can't upgrade to Halide 3. This is a total betrayal of Halide 1's long-time users—I'm giving it a bad review.

Critical bugs
I have not had a smooth experience with any major version of this app, mark ii or mark iii. Both were ridden with bugs and bugs which were not forgivable and damaged confidence in capturing moments. The latest version STILL has a bug that causes the first capture to be completely lost, which is likely a moment you wanted to capture right after opening the app. I can’t think of a bug much worse than that. To have it still exist is unacceptable. Will never pay for any version of this app again.

Way too buggy to be your only camera app
As others have said, this app produces excellent photos – it also has great features. However, it is *so* buggy! Many "capture errors" – not just every once in a while but every time I use it (usually not the first shot unless I launch it from the lock screen). Also there are times it shows that I am taking photos but none save (no capture error warning though).
Other bugs (such as the tone fusion crashing the app) are honestly fine, in my opinion. It's the unreliability at the point of capture that keeps me from using this all the time.

Nice full control camera app
Great to take charge and see what the camera is actually capable of! Takes some great photos with full manual control, easy interface too.
Halide Mark III is the real deal!
As a colorist and cinematographer, I've tried every photo app under the sun on iOS to get more filmic photos out of my phone. Halide Mark 3 feels like finally someone paired the right pro camera app with the right pro quality of preset. All these profiles are beautiful, and they actually feel like photos that don't know how, just have filters tacked on, but truly like filmic rendering and texture imbued into the actual image. It never feels too much like so many other camera film apps, and it has the perfect right amount of editing tools. There's definitely some more quality of life improvements to come, but I can't recommend this enough!

I will ALWAYS prefer 35mm, but…
This app is a lot of fun to toy around with and really get some great content. It was great before I decided to upgrade my subscription but now it’s next level. I have a few other apps that are similar but this one replaced by Apple Camera on my homepage. (But I definitely still use it, simple is never overrated.) Would absolutely recommend to anyone, newb or pro. 🫶🏼📸

Should just say $70 = $cam
The app cost $70, which is about what I pay for the entire used iPad =)) Instead of trying to trick people with ads disguised as apps, they should just list the price near the title like any legitimate project that is not a scam.
LOVE
I never ever rate apps, but this one is so worth it. I found it on a whim and decided to try it, and immediately fell in love. Suddenly my photos look amazing. I’m taking them all the time and struggling to delete ones I don’t need because they all look so good. The photos come out looking so professional and beautiful and like they came from a film camera if you use the RAW setting (which is all I use). Seriously a wonderful app :)

Made me like my phone camera
I love how halide strips away all of the ai filtering that makes iPhone pictures seems so lifeless. RAW photos and good filter options to bring that beautiful lowlight noise back into frame!
Bring back some character to your photos
I really love the concept behind this app. I personally think modern phone cameras look flat and unappealing. Halide turns your phone camera into something you want to use for capturing life. Get rid of over-processed HDR and eye-melting saturation. Capture photos the way your eye sees them and embrace imperfection, because life is rarely perfect.
One small note: I would love to see the iPhone centre-stage selfie camera function as Apple intended. It's too wide and there isn't a way to adjust this other than cropping in post.

Kein Selbstauslöser
Benutze die App jetzt seit rund zwei Monaten und mir gefällt der Look wirklich sehr gut. Es gibt allerdings ein großes Manko: Bis heute fehlt ein Selbstauslöser. Ich hatte dazu sogar direkt Kontakt mit Sebastiaan de With, aber leider wurde das Problem bisher nicht gelöst. Wenn man sich auf Reddit umsieht, scheint es außerdem viele Nutzer zu geben, die sich dieselbe Funktion wünschen.
Was ich ebenfalls enttäuschend finde: Für Videoaufnahmen benötigt man eine separate App. Ich hätte mir gewünscht, dass Foto und Video in einer einzigen, vollständigen Kamera-App vereint sind.

Really great. Sometimes unstable
Beautiful app but one flaw
It’s a powerhouse of an app with minimalistic design but when I choose certain settings on my app let’s say I change the shutter speed or ISO can there be an option or update where do certain settings are kept in and saved. It’s kinda annoying to keep continuously keep repeating the settings.
The best camera app, period
Halide just keeps getting better and better. For me, it gets comparable results to my very expensive Fuji XT-30 with much less to carry - it’s already in my pocket. Love the new filters. I love this app so much this is literally the first review I’ve written on the App Store. I want more people to discover this app so the devs can continue to improve it!
