Like others, I find it most frustrating when a developer starts wanting your five star review of an app before you’ve had a chance to know what it’s worth in the first place! This leads to an unfair assessment to unsuspecting users who rely heavily on the number of stars an app has in determining if a certain app is one that he or she wants to invest time, and in many cases money, to download and use. It’s self-serving and pretentious on the part of the developers who use this tactic, and it’s unfair to its prospective customers.
