About
The migraine app built for the worst moment of your day.
When an attack starts you need three taps in a dark room, not a form. Halo's Attack Mode is a dim, silent, animation-free screen that logs onset, pain and medication in under ten seconds, with a Live Activity keeping quiet watch until it ends.
BUILT FOR THE DARK ROOM
• Attack Mode: dim, fast, no animations, works offline
• Log from your Lock Screen, Apple Watch or a widget
• Pre-log the warning signs and close the loop next morning
• Log what you actually feel, including vertigo, dizziness, motion sensitivity and brain fog
• Six colour palettes previewed as whole screens, with soft-contrast and dimmed-colour options, because which hue hurts least is personal
GETTING THROUGH IT
Most trackers stop once you've logged. Halo's comfort tools are for the hours after: free, always, because nobody should meet a paywall mid-attack.
• Green room: a dim green screen. Many people with light sensitivity find dim green light the most comfortable to look at
• Paced breathing: about six breaths a minute, tapped out by the phone so you can keep your eyes closed
• Masking sound: a steady, deep sound that can soften sharp noises, and keeps playing when you lock your phone
Halo never changes your screen brightness. These are comfort tools, not treatments.
YOUR TRIGGERS, WITH REAL STATISTICS
Halo correlates your attacks against weather, sleep, cycle and the factors you log, with actual statistics (Fisher's exact test, multiple-comparison correction), not vibes. It tells you when there isn't enough data yet, and it never invents a pattern. Every correlation says "associated with", because association is not causation.
The Trigger Map sorts every factor into four honest buckets (appears to increase risk, appears protective, no association found, not enough data yet), so you also see what was ruled out. And you can add up to five factors of your own (chocolate, screen time, anything you suspect); they are tested with the same rigour as the built-ins.
WEATHER, AUTOMATICALLY
Every attack is stamped with the barometric pressure, temperature and humidity of the 24 hours before it, automatically, from Apple Weather. The 48-hour risk forecast is built from your own significant factors, never a generic model.
MEDICATION, HONESTLY
• A follow-up two hours after a dose asks one question: did it help?
• See how often each medication was followed by relief
• A medication-overuse guard that counts intake days the way clinicians do, and stays out of your way otherwise
FOR YOUR NEUROLOGIST
One tap builds a clinical PDF: attack calendar, frequency trends, medication response, your trigger map (including what was ruled out), your MIDAS disability score and your notes. Save your next appointment and Halo reminds you three days before, report ready.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No account. Your health data stays on your device and in your own private iCloud. Cycle and sleep are read from Apple Health on your device and never leave it. No ads, no third-party analytics, no data sale, ever.
FREE & PREMIUM
Free forever: attack logging, Attack Mode, the comfort tools, the calendar, basic stats, the medication list, reminders and CSV export. Your data is never held hostage.
Halo Pro: the weather engine and 48-hour forecast, personal trigger correlations and the Trigger Map, your own custom factors, medication effectiveness, cycle correlation, the doctor PDF, the Apple Watch app and forecast widgets. Plans start with a free trial.
Halo is a tracking tool, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat or predict illness. Bring its reports to a clinician you trust.
