Nearly perfect
I’d rate it 4.5 but I rounded up. I love that I can use it offline, and that I can cycle through my incorrect answers after a test or that they’ll return to me in flash card mode, but I really would like it to sync across devices, and for test results to factor into weakness ratings. But, I’m almost done with tests so what do I care? :D

Don't add ads to apps people paid for and then sell an in-app purchase to turn them off. Fremium or paid is a decision you make up front. Disappointed. Fix this please and I'll re-rate.

This app is a "Digital Elmer"!
I was originally licensed in 1967 as a Tech and worked my way up the ladder to become an Advanced. I really had to work hard and struggle through several handbooks and literature to attain this goal! Plus also had to learn Morse Code, which I actually miss...
(Fast forward through college, jobs, marriage and life's other issues and I discovered I had let my license lapse in 2001.)
Now age 65 and in-firmed, I wasn't able to get out to Ham classes. Luckily I was given an iPad2 when hospitalized a few years ago. After doing a lot of research I discovered this terrific app!
It let me review my problem areas and had everything broken down into user-friendly sections. Using the current database of VEC questions, I was easily able to learn what I needed to know and, of course could also look on the Internet for formulae used in all the calculations necessary for the modern Amateur, and flip right back to this app!
After studying with my iPad and this Extra Class study app, I passed my Extra afetr one month of study and review.
I honestly would recommend this app to anyone interested in becoming an Extra... It's a "Must"!

Passed the Extra
With some prodding, I decided to take the Extra the same day as my General. Along with some other study tools, this app definitely helped build confidence.
This works!
With the help of this app, I was able to pass the extra exam in two weeks. The app showed me where my weaknesses were and I corrected them. A great app tool to study anywhere.
Excellent program
This is the best program I have seen for extra license test. It utilizes an approach that allows you to efficiently use your study time. As you study you immediately learn the correct answer. It is best to work on the small units until you achieve at least 90% success, adding one new unit at a time. There are a lot of units, but this is a larger test with a larger test pool. Every possible question is here. It gives the correct answer-be careful there is one program out there that actually states the wrong answer is correct! If you want to have explanations you need something additionally. The best I have found is ARRL's kindle version, but it doesn't allow you to simulate test taking like this app. This is a needed supplement or standalone app. I don't have iPad, so I would like to have laptop Mac laptop version for home study. This iPhone app is excellent for studying during free time when I'm mobile.

Great app!
I downloaded this app and it worked percectly right away. Very easy to use and the pratice tests were great in helping me find areas I needed to review. A couple of weeks of reviewing the questions and doing the practice tests and I aced the exam. I contacted the developer about the new questions for 2012 and received a very prompt reply that they were on the way.

Great supplement study tool
I just passed my Extra and I truly believe this app was a great addition to go along with my Gordon West study guide. What I really liked was it broke each topic into smaller groups of questions to allow me to concentrate on just a few at a time rather than a large number at once. Some of the questions in each topic didn't fall into the same topic as the book but I guess each author has his own ideas where they should go. As I progressed that became less of a factor.
As I went along it did a good job of tracking my weak areas allowing me to study the most where I needed it most. The practice exams were fun to take and allowed me to review what questions I missed. A nice feature to help you get it right the next time.
You really do need a good book to learn the material but an app such as this is great for reviewing all the questions in places where using the book isn't handy such as at work or just on the go. It really helped studying more enjoyable.
