Such a great way to learn Ham
I decided to become a ham radio operator and earn my Technician license, but I found the free government study guide a little too dry and difficult to get through. I needed videos and study materials that would keep me engaged.
This app made studying much easier. The one-time price includes unlimited lifetime access, which is a breath of fresh air compared with so many apps that require subscriptions. Being able to study on the bus or while my wife shops has made a huge difference.
They also offer deals on their website, so it’s worth taking a look.
Ham radio can be an important tool for families during emergencies, especially when normal infrastructure is strained or unavailable. Operators can communicate over the airwaves, share information, and help connect people when other methods may not work.
The team’s knowledge comes together in a clear, easy-to-follow platform that makes the material much more approachable. With the lifetime unlock, you can also review updates as they are published. It’s a great resource for anyone who wants to prepare for the exam and stay informed afterward.

Tech Test
I used this app everyday. After watching the videos took the short test. After that did the review quizzes, 4 or 5 everyday. Took 4 practice test the week leading up to my exam. Passed my tech test only missed 2 questions. Awesome app.
Payed services
You have to pay to watch more than 3 videos. The videos are good though, so might be worth the purchase.
Love this app
I used this app to pass my technician and general and I am currently studying for my Extra. I have found it extremely helpful to be able to return back to sections even after having passed and using it as a reference. Because of this I now use World Radio League app for logging and community. Keep up the great work! 73 Jared WØJHB

Great app
Passed my technician test on the first attempt, studding a little each day with the app.
Not free
App lets you take a few courses and then wants you to pay $35
Extremely Helpful
I put in a 37-day study streak and passed all 3 exams in one sitting. I was one question away from a perfect score, dang it. Not sure which one, but it was on the Amateur Extra exam. The videos made learning the material much easier instead of just trying to memorize the answers. I will say that I’ve been working with electronics for a while and did radio repair in the military, so it wasn’t all new to me. However, I have confidence that someone without prior experience should do just fine. Put in the time to review and study and it will pay off. Thank you very much, Ham Radio Prep!

Congratulations on passing all three exams in one sitting—what an incredible achievement! 🎉 A 37-day study streak and nearly a perfect score on the Amateur Extra exam is seriously impressive. We’re especially glad the videos helped you understand the material rather than simply memorize answers. Thank you for sharing your experience and encouraging future hams to put in the time and study. We’re proud to have been part of your journey from Technician all the way to Amateur Extra. 73! 📻🎉
Great, but won’t synch
This app works fantastically. It is great to be able to customize how you learn and how the questions are presented. I would recommend turning off randomizing answers so that they will be the way you see them on the test. I especially like being able to review the questions you’ve had the most problems with. Molly critique is that if I switch between a desktop and the app on my phone, the progress is not synced up.

Truncation issue
A number of sections have text fields with truncated sentences…should be easy to fix. Fix and I’ll give the app 5 stars
Great app
Used this app to help get me from Technician all the way to extra. Put the time in and study hard. Well worth the effort! 73’s

Great Context to Prep and Pass
This course via a well-designed and really easy to use app provided great concept-context, and provided multiple ways to retain all the right exam questions.
Great App/UI, by AI Slop!
This app has been fantastic for learning the wide world of radios, but with the new iterations they have gone to AI Slop for all of the graphics.
App made perfect
I posted a review with the only issue I had with the app, and they were able to fix it and get me back to learning. So not only is it a fantastic app for learning ham and preparing for the tests, but the devs are great with support and problem solving!
Awesome site to get your ticket
I used this site for 4.5 weeks and got a trifecta (all 3 test at once) done 73
Please make persistent log in
I can’t believe I have to log into the damn app every time I open it.
Awesome study tool
I already had my technician ticket, which I barely passed about 10 years ago after studying the arrl book. I decided kind of on a whim to go get my general. Got this app, studied for 2 days, found a test session and passed the exam no problem! If you have a hard time learning from a book this might be the thing for you!

5 stars to 2 stars
I haven’t completed the technician course and have not taken the exam yet so I cannot comment regarding that. I used to be licensed 15yrs ago and let it lapse.
Decided to try this to brush up on the details.
The content and delivery are very nicely done. 5 stars assuming that it covers what is expected.
Why 2 stars? - Incorrect information. Two of the illustrations that I have seen so far are wrong. the first one in the chapter about powering equipment has an illustration that is totally incorrect, the one that shows the car battery and ham radio.
The next one is electrical concepts the first one that has the battery, this illustration is also wrong.
For those who have access you can paste the illustration in any AI like Gemini and they will point it out.
Maybe it doesn’t matter to pass the exam but learning wise this is not correct.
I was so happy with the whole course until I saw these two illustrations and now I feel I have to look at comparable information and double check everything :(
I hope you review everything and fix it.

Great app! Makes tests simple
Thanks from a new Amateur Extra! I took my Technician, General, and now my Extra exam. Clear easy to follow lessons and easy to use practice tests. Ham Radio Prep was my go-to for all them. Excellent app! Highly recommend!
Excellent, it works!
I always wanted a cool hobby, and since leaving the army I haven’t spent much time on the air. I wanted to get back into being an operator. This program did just that. Within only a few weeks I took my first 4 practice test and passed them all. That night my wife convinced me to log online and test remotely through ARRP. I passed with a 96%

Needs work
The videos are to long with to much information, this makes it very difficult for any knowledge to actually stick. It just needs improvements made on length of videos and more quizzes (Shorter videos on one topic with a quiz instead of 5 topics on the same quiz) explanations for why your answer is wrong often dont help much to learning and just frustrate you after missing the same question with one different word in each answer. Idk it’s just not for me.
