Can’t see my cards due to ad placement!!!

I used to LOVE this app - this app is how I learned how to play Koi-koi, and where I fell in love with the game, to the point that I was inspired to design my own Hanafuda cards for friends! The layout is simple, the mechanics are good for beginners and still helpful once you’ve played for a while. I also love the paintings reward system, as a little incentive to level up your playing, as well as expanding the world of the app, and making the process of playing feel like it’s something bigger.

However, recently I have become increasingly disappointed with this app.

My first and long-standing issue is with the points: losing life points from BOTH losing a round AND every time you play a card is too much. It makes it impossible to extend a run on just small victories if your luck is bad but your strategy is good. A great koi-koi hand for you can only serve to buy you time, and winning a round can still drain you of life. Meanwhile, the computer can get one great hand and in one fell swoop end an otherwise promising run.

This is frustrating, but I always treated it as an eccentricity of the app, and motivation to get better at the game.

Which brings me to issue number two: the app started showing me adds a while ago, during the games. This is annoying, but I understand it’s a part of how things are now. The developers need to make a living, I don’t begrudge them that. I wish I could buy an option to get rid of ads, I’d gladly spend money on that, but if that doesn’t support their work enough financially, I understand.

Until recently, the ads hovered over the opponent’s cards, in the top left corner of the screen. This was fine, since the opponent’s cards are turned over, so the ad didn’t block anything. Now, though, the ads appear in the lower left, directly over MY cards - making it impossible to view my cards LET ALONE PLAY THEM. The app is now unplayable!

To the developers - please fix this!!

I don’t want to move to a different app, but I’m not going to stop playing a game I’ve fallen in love with. Especially when this app is what drove that love in the first place!

New Update

The latest update has made the game SUPER unbalanced! It doesn’t feel like the perfect balance of skill and luck anymore. It’s a real shame.

Was Good, Got Greedy

A nice miniature version of koi koi with a decent life system until they added an ad banner right in front of your hand. Seriously?

too many ads block flow

well built game but obtrusive ads make it no fun
