Hanafuda Rogue

A roguelite deckbuilder played with the 48 Japanese hanafuda flower cards. Survive all twelve months, from January's pine to December's paulownia, in a single run that never repeats. Pick cards from your hand to form yaku (scoring sets), then decide: bank the points, or call "koi-koi" and push your luck for a bigger multiplier. Between months, visit the fair to collect omamori charms, scrolls, and card upgrades, and build a deck that can beat New Year's Eve. HOW TO PLAY 1. Pick cards from your hand to form a yaku (five-lights, boar-deer-butterfly, red ribbons, cherry-blossom sake... classic yaku plus this game's own month-set and season-set) 2. When a yaku is formed, choose to bank it or call koi-koi to keep going for a higher multiplier -- but a failed follow-up costs you the unbanked points 3. Clear each month's target score with a limited number of plays and discards 4. Spend your earnings at the fair on omamori (passive effects), scrolls (one-time items), and card crafting (foil, seal, gold leaf) to build your run 5. March, June, September, and December bring a Season Boss with a disruptive house rule 6.
