About

Handcast records first-person video of real, hands-on work. Pick a task, hold or mount your phone so both of your hands are in view, and record yourself doing it: preparing a meal, fixing something, doing the laundry, cleaning a surface. Handcast captures the video together with the phone's motion sensor readings and uploads each recording securely to your account. Recordings are collected as real-world training data for robotics and machine learning. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Choose from a list of everyday tasks, each with a short note on what to record • Start recording automatically once both hands are in view, or turn on Glove mode when gloves make detection unreliable • Follow the angle guide while you record, and stop with a three-second press • Get a warning when the phone dropped frames, so you can record again before uploading • Retry uploads that fail, with the recording kept safely on the device until it lands • See your recordings, their length and upload status in one place YOUR DATA Recordings contain video with no audio, motion sensor data, camera and phone details, and, only if you allow it, the location where you recorded. They are private to your account. You can delete your account and every recording from inside the app at any time. Handcast uses the camera to record and motion data to capture movement. Location is optional.
