Beautiful App but Needs Update
I have been using this app for many years and have purchased all the typewriters. It is indeed a beautiful app and no other typewriter app out there is as beautiful as this one, but the developer has not updated in years so it keeps crashing. You can only type a few words in before it crashes on iOS 26. I can only give it three stars as I love this app but I could not recommend it to anyone with all the crashes. Please Update the app.

Lost Love
I’ve loved this app for years. I love a real typewriter, but in this day and age I also need the portability and added tech that my iPad gives me. When I found this app several years ago I thought I had found the perfect mix of old meets new. It worked well, until it didn’t. It now crashes continuously. I barely can get through a sentence. It’s really disheartening . I hope that there is some work being done on this and that maybe there will be an update at some point, but as of today I cannot recommend this for anyone.

Really need this for macOS
Is there any way possible for this interface to come to macOS? I can see the value in using this while I type or use the keyboard on my Mac.
Loving this app
Loving the Hanx Writer. Found out about it after watching the documentary. I am a typewriter lover and this allows me to use my clicky keyboard on my iPad. So I get double the clicky sounds. Love it!!!!
Keyboard doesn’t fit screen
I have an iPhone 13 mini and the keyboard does not properly fit the screen. It is a little bit bigger, making it uncomfortable to use it. I’d like for it to work well.

iPad m4 all the juice required to run this app and it does nothing but crash=. If it didn’t crash every 4 see=condsm id put 5t stars. So aggravating. Hope Tommy boy is enjoying the money tho.

Keyboard Plug-in Does Strange Things
Was really excited to try the keyboard plug-in. However it was a mess. When I choose the keyboard from within my messages app, it covers half the screen, barely showing the text feed. Toggle though my keyboards (Eng > German > Hanx Writer) and now the keyboard is at the very top hiding everything and no way to move it down. Quite disappointing, definitely a bug that should be looked into. Hopefully, I can get a refund.

Very nostalgic
I’ve been using this app to write all my poetry that once clogged my notes app - it’s beautiful and stylistic.
I never had the intent to share with others, but just for myself. Love the authentic sounds and the look of it all.
Wish they kept up with this with all the iOS updates…
Only major complaint is you can resize the keyboard to fit your screen when using your phone, like the everyday keyboard. The edges are cut off and make it hard to type sometimes.

Terrible app. DO NOT BUY!!
Doesn’t work and Apple won’t refund me
Crashes, no updates
Keeps on crashing. Does not work with new iOS. And developer seems to have given up. Shave as I really liked the writing experience and paid for add ons.
Unstable
You can type about a paragraph this app will keep crashing and then you’ll have to reopen it and there will be a few words missing. This is constant and annoying New upload new iPad. Hasn’t been fixed in 10 years still doing the same thing.
App Crashes On iOS 26
It keeps crashing on iOS 26 when I try to restore my purchases before.
Please fix the crashing Tom!
I really love the idea of this app and as a daily writer it’s fun to open this on the IPad and start writing. However, every time after a few sentences it just closes and is extremely annoying. Please fix and will gladly move my star rating from a 1 to 5. This morning it closed 3x and now have to leave the program once again. Help us Tom :) Think of it as providing a rescue to all of us cast away in this program :)

Crashes often
I want to like this app but as I’m writing, the app crashes often. I think the developers have not kept up with the updates and now it’s in the process of getting bricked by neglect. Such a shame.

I absolutely love this app. Feel like I’m exactly the human Tom Hanks was thinking of when he made this. But…it’s crashiy nw and hasn’t been updated in 8 years. iCloud sync would be huge!!! That’s it. Update with iCloud sync and make it now crash. That’s it.
