Great word hunt
As a teacher, this app is both a great learning tool and a fun classroom reward exercise. Students enjoy finding the hidden words before the thief appears. The extra games are ok but it is the word hunt that makes the app.
Awesome coolness!
My 7 year old loves this game. You search for hidden words (only forward and horizontally - thank you!). All words (up to 5 words) must be found before the funny Word thief comes out. This is a time keeping concept that really seem to resonate with my son. He cries out in amusement every time the thief peeks out from his hiding place. Plus also for the built in instructions that help you get started. A very awesome game.

Not intuitive for younger kids
Even I had a hard time figuring out what to do at first. There is no narration and the directions are poor. It takes some trial and error...all the while the time is ticking. Also, the spelling words are pretty advanced for the ages specified. There are a few beginner words like pig, but then there are words like helmet and a few even harder for that. Granted, my son is a beginner reader. Definitely for older kids.

"Happi" I got this!
Downloaded to keep kids occupied during restaurant visit. Has the classic word hunt puzzles but also a lot more. Kids just love when the Word thief sticks his head out to see what's going on.
Like the app - Love the thief
this is a fun digital take on the word hunt puzzles you get with the kids menus at a restaurant. If you find all the words before the Wordthief comes you get to do a detective puzzle. The word hunt boards seem to be endless so there is no risk you are running out of puzzles. Recommended!
Great fun!
I love using this app with my ESL students! They are always excited to try and beat the thief and are always happy to see what new badge they will earn. The word unscramble game can be a bit frustrating when the item won’t select, but other than that I highly recommend this app for spelling, letter combination practice and a general good time!

Love it
I installed this for my 11 y/o son & initially he had no interest in the app. All he wanted to play was Minecraft. However, after watching his older brother & I playing (we were hooked immediately), he decided to check it out - around 2am I might add LOL (he has Autism & rarely sleeps). Now, about a week later, this is one of his favourite apps. I love that instead of wasting time on MC, he's choosing to use an app that's not only fun, but educational too. Thanks developers!!

A winner with kids
My first graders love Word Thief. It is one of their favorite apps. They told me they love it because they get to search for words, there are different levels, they like the mixed up letter to form a word, and they can learn new words. My kids and I highly recommend this app.
Fun and Educational
My kids age 5, 8, and 9 enjoy being a spelling detective. I love the different ways they can learn to spell the words and the kids love beating the thief. This app is sure to educate and engage your child for hours. We enjoyed it and you will too.

Using pictures, word searches, and scrambled words, the Word Thief is a fun way for children to practice spelling. Great replay value at each level.

Programmers need to check their spelling if they are going to develop a spelling program for kids! Other than the couple of spelling errors (2 so far) , great concept!
So much fun while learning
My daughter is a reluctant reader, and usually hates the ed games that have anything to do with reading. This app is different...she was 100% engaged - shouting at the robber....rushing to finish the puzzle before he could steal her words. She usually hates word-seeks...but not this one. I am putting it right up there as a tie with Sushi Monster and Numbers League....her other 2 favorite edu games....finally, a word based game that is just as great as those. (p.s. She is 7).
