What's New in Happy

1.7.0

March 27, 2026

*New Session Composer* - Rebuilt session creation screen β€” pick machine, agent, model, permissions, and worktree from one place. Drafts persist across navigation. Offline machines visible with "last seen" timestamps. *Git Worktrees* - Create new or select existing worktrees when starting sessions. Smart cleanup on delete/archive (checks for uncommitted changes and shared sessions first). *Voice Assistant* - 1 hour free, then subscription required. Bring-your-own ElevenLabs agent option in Settings > Voice. Cross-session support, prompt queuing during speech, and VAD-based speaking indicators. Fixed stuck "connecting" state. *Multi-Agent* - OpenClaw added as 4th agent. Updated model names (Claude opus/sonnet 4.6, Codex gpt-5.3/5.4). "Bypass" renamed to "Yolo" with sandboxed badge. Auto plan-mode switching. Dynamic model/mode selectors from backend metadata. *Session Management* - Long-press/right-click quick actions (Details, Archive, Copy Metadata). Instant archive (no confirmation). Delete always available. Disconnected sessions show copyable resume CLI command. Push notifications now deep-link to sessions. CLI availability shown on machine detail. *Rendering* - Codex patches show full inline diffs. Markdown tables support rich formatting. Links work on web. Internal tool calls (thinking, ToolSearch) hidden. Bash commands render correctly for all agents. *Performance & Reliability* - Expo SDK 55. Mobile web Enter key inserts newline.

crash report

It will crash when you click on the file list.
Iβ€˜m talking about the modified Git file displayed.

vibe coded and lacks polish

I really enjoy using this app because it unlocks a capability that was hard for me to use elsewhere. I also appreciate that it's open source. However, the app has a lot of trivial problems that would be readily solved by somebody who is versed cross-platform mobile development. I find that there frequent breaking changes to the app, such as navigation bugs, and the app is not optimized for long running chats or for lots of chats (for example, opening an old chat takes minutes to catch up).

FAQ

What does Happy Coder do?

Happy Coder is a secure mobile companion app that allows you to continue your AI coding sessions with Codex and Claude Code from anywhere. It enables you to monitor AI progress, receive notifications, and access conversation history, all while ensuring your code remains private through robust encryption.

How does the encryption work?

The app utilizes end-to-end encryption, similar to Signal, with a zero-knowledge architecture. This means your encryption keys never leave your device, and all data is encrypted before transmission, ensuring that neither the app developers nor any third parties can access your code or conversations.

What are the key features of this app?

Key features include seamless continuation of coding sessions between desktop and mobile, push notifications for important AI updates, offline access to your chat history, real-time streaming of AI responses, and a strong emphasis on privacy with end-to-end encryption and a zero-knowledge design.

Is this app free to use?

The app is free to download and use, but it does offer in-app purchases. It functions as a companion to existing Codex or Claude Code installations on your computer, requiring a setup with a CLI tool.

Who is this app designed for?

This app is perfect for developers who need to keep an eye on long-running AI coding tasks while away from their computers, require secure access to sensitive code discussions, or simply value a high level of privacy and open-source transparency in their development tools.
