About
Instagram Stories show HDR video, but flatten HDR photos. HDR Story turns your HDR photos into short HDR videos, so the bright skies, neon and sunsets you captured look the way they do in your Photos app.
HOW IT WORKS
- Open an HDR photo in Photos, tap Share and choose HDR Story, or pick photos inside the app.
- Choose the duration and tap Create. The video is rendered on your iPhone in HLG with Dolby Vision, the same format the iPhone camera uses.
- Save it to Photos or send it straight to Instagram Stories.
WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT
- The photo's gain map is applied exactly as Photos shows it: highlights, colours and shadows match the original.
- Batches: add several photos and get a video for each.
- HDR Glow: make highlights shine brighter — pick a preset, tap Auto, or fine-tune it with simple swipes. Works on standard photos too.
- Everything happens on your device. Your photos are never uploaded.
Works with Ultra HDR JPEGs and iPhone HDR photos. Standard (non-HDR) photos can get an HDR glow on their highlights.
