New in this release: • Demo Mode: no camera handy? Tap Try Demo Mode on the Camera Connection screen to explore the app with sample 360° brackets. Capture, Live View, Pictures and sharing all work. It ends when you connect a THETA. • Manual: a guide to every screen, in Settings. • Fixed: brackets more than 1 stop apart are now centered on the Center Shutter Speed. Before, they came out darker than intended. • Shot counter: the Capture button counts the photos as they're taken, with a tap and a flash for each exposure. • View Photos: after a bracket, opens just the photos it took. • Color temperature: each bracket is tinted with its color temperature, orange for warm light and blue for cool, in the list and the editor. • Liquid Glass Capture, Cancel and View Photos buttons that no longer cover the bracket's settings. • New camera status icon on the main screen, and a new app icon. • A standard Close button on every sheet, and a clearer highlight for the selected bracket on iPad and iPhone Duo. • VoiceOver and spelling fixes. • Requires iOS 17 or later.
MoreHDRI Prep is designed for RICOH THETA 360 cameras, specifically the V, Z1, and X models. It requires a direct WiFi connection to the camera, assuming the IP address is 192.168.1.1.
You can define bracket sets to include between 3 and 19 photos. These numbers must always be odd to ensure symmetrical exposure bracketing.
Yes, a key feature of HDRI Prep is the ability to custom name brackets, organize them by show, and easily reuse them for different projects. You can also drag and drop to reorder them or move them between shows.
No, HDRI Prep focuses on bracket management. Image viewing is minimal, and you will need to use other apps like the official THETA app or Image Capture on Mac for downloading and deleting images.
Currently, it only works with a direct WiFi connection to the camera and has minimal image viewing capabilities. Adjusting camera settings like volume or sleep time overwrites previous settings on the camera.
No, HDRI Prep is a specialized utility designed to fill a specific functional gap in the official THETA app. It is not intended to be a full-featured replacement and is best used in conjunction with other apps.
The app was last updated on December 12, 2025, with version 20251211.1. Future features may be added, but no specific update schedule is promised.
HDRI Prep is a paid application, available for $9.99. There are no in-app purchases or subscriptions associated with this app.
