What's New in Health for Tanita

12.0

June 29, 2022

This major version provides support for those users who's data is stored on Tanita's EU website. Tanita use two different websites, depending on the scale you use: mytanita.eu - repository for scales that communicate via a phone app over bluetooth (e.g. RD-545) mytanita.com - repository for scales that communicate via a desktop app/widget using an ANT stick (e.g. BC-1000) You can simply choose which repository to use by turning the "Use EU Tanita Website" setting on or off.

It just crashes

Crashes syncing with Tanita

That’s perfect for me

I have a low model of Tanita weight scale which unable to sync with Tanita app. I want to record my body progress and yes I need to take note by hand. Hence , I try to find the app that can record my data.. And finally, I found this one.. it’s the thing that I want.. simple and easy for me. I almost buy the new weight scale. You safe my money, Thanks so much.

Mostly happy with it

Some things are a little off. Like first time use, there is no way to create a new account (do that from web). The order of fields does not match my scales, and there is no way edit entries. Plus the labels were confusing to sync. So I have 2 entries with very different values, for the same day.

Update 4/2022 Still mostly happy.

Since can’t edit old records, I had to delete and re-enter ( luckily I wrote those down).

Do like the graphs, although comparing entries from 3 years ago to now is skewed. Sorry to see no other recent reviews. Our scales are so old, I can only use this app as a log.Do appreciate the upload/backup feature.

Also, appreciate dev is keeping this up to date - thanks!

Response from developer

The intention of the app is to provide a more useful display of the Tanita data stored on the MyTanita website after your scale uploads it. So the 'account' information you need to enter is the set of credentials (username/password) that you use on the Tanita website. (https://my.tanita.com). If that's where your scale uploads data to, then just enter the same credentials in my app and you're all set. If you don't have a scale that uploads to Tanita but just stores it locally on the scale, they when you're in the settings page of the app just toggle "store local metrics only" button. You will not require an account at all and you can just enter your metrics manually. After that you can export (.FIT, CSV) or store in you iCloud account. Backups and Restore obviously work as well.. Joe

Useless

Doesn’t talk to the Tanita data file correctly . Waste of time
