I tried to submit a recording for an audition but the app crashed and lock me out of submitting it causing me to have to upload my worst attempt instead of my best.

Honestly, a few years ago, I had to upload an audition with this app. I was young, I didn’t understand responsibility. I procrastinated and auditioned on the day it was due. It took forever to upload and I ended up missing the audition date. Luckily, the judges gave people like me a second chance. I was still furious to the point where I was crying. But it turns out, I had no storage on my phone (not to mention our internet was horrible). After deleting a few things, it worked just fine. I still don’t really like recording auditions. However, I got over the personal demons I was battling, and I’ve come to peace with this app. It’s not that bad. It gets so much hate, and I get it. Being a student with a lot going on, taking my personal time to record a video audition feels like more of a burden than going to a live audition. It feels optional when it isn’t. But at least I get three chances?? It’s easy to operate and the instructions are straightforward. I don’t have any problems with it anymore. I hope more people can come to realize that.

A MUST HAVE aide in auditioning!
I’ve used HeartOut for my theatre auditions lately, and it truly is a time saver. I get very frustrated spending countless hours on self taping, and having the change to do one live tape and send it in was really, really great. It felt the closest thing to being in person/over zoom, and I like preparing myself mentally to make it happen just as I would in the room! Really thankful to have this option.

One of the worst parts of being a professional musician is the cost of auditions. Love that this app makes the process more equitable.
Literally ruined my audition
Tried to record my audition of High School All State and it ruined all of the recordings (except one which was my worst). I had to get them to reset my auditions and still, it didn’t save any of my recordings and it says that there is a “wifi problem” when there literally wasn’t. Glitchiest app award goes to “HeartOut”

Great support
So we were doing an audition for a piano competition, and during the audition there was a disruption. We were able to contact the people from heart out via their website it was very convenient. They got back to us right away, and were able to remove the problem audition.
Extremely helpful, great support, people were very nice. What makes this app outstanding is really the excellent support staff associated with it.

Not only is this app easy to use, but HeartOut also has amazing customer service to help out whenever I need it!
Good idea but the app is annoying
This app is annoying. I have used it for two auditions and both times the app glitched multiple times causing me to delete and reinstall the app. The first time I made second chair and I’m still waiting on the results of my second audition so I’m not just salty. On my second audition though, it shorted me a response. I was supposed to have 3 responses but every time I tried to do the third one it kept saying “there was an error, try again.” I was going to delete the app and reinstall, but the instructions were clear to not exit the audition. Idk I hope my second audition did well.

Horrible, Freezes and deletes the recording
This app is the worst I’ve seen. It’s bette to do a YouTube competition.
Decent app
Used this for the Missouri Solo and Ensemble, all worked decently, but if you didn’t know any better, You’d think I had a dating app on my phone. I mean, with the name “heart out” and the icon being a big heart, it really seems like I’m some desperate person looking for a dated but nope, I’m just submitting a recording for a music competition

I’m so angry. Literally spent an hour utilizing the test recording, acoustics, etc. Finally time to record, following all directions from the tutorial and my teacher. Felt really good because the real thing was my best run through yet. Except for the fact that after all that, heartout decided to not save my audition. No I didn’t close out the app or log out or literally anything other than to tap the heart button to conclude recording. Figured that I would at least get to preview the recording but nope. It’s floating around in cyberspace somewhere and my head hurts too much to troubleshoot it right now. Never again

Terrible experience
Not a user friendly app. Very frustrated with this app. And worst of all customer support is nonexistent:-( My daughter’s audition is messed up because they cannot help with a silly technicality!
