How good this app is to check heart rates

This app is actually pretty good at measuring your heart rate/pulse by only placing it up to your chest, pressing start, and resting it there, and it can tell you your heart rate, the only downside is that you can’t use the analysis because you have to pay for it, so no free trials you don’t have to pay for or anything :(

Don’t waste your time

It let me use it twice and now everytime I try to actually measure my heart rate I get repeating ads to infinite.

Don’t bother

I’m a cardiology NP and figured I’d see what this app is. If you are looking for an ECG app, this is not that. If you are interested in heart rate, you’re better off with just checking your pulse by hand. There are much better apps for heart rate rhythm monitoring

Response from developer

You're absolutely right — this is not an ECG app. ECG measures the electrical activity of the heart. HeartScan, on the other hand, uses seismocardiography — a method that captures the mechanical activity of the heart. This allows us to analyze aspects like valve motion and microvibrations, which are not visible on a standard ECG. We understand that the graph and data may look unfamiliar, especially to professionals used to ECG traces. That’s because we’re showing a different, but complementary, view of heart function. For users who only need a quick heart rate check, we’ve also released a simple online pulse measurement tool — no download or installation required. You can try it right now at: heartscan.app Thanks again for checking us out — we appreciate the work you do in cardiology! Warm regards, The HeartScan Team

More add on apps

It’s difficult toto just download and start the app- making you sign up for other options as you are opening the app and see how it works. I’ve not gotten the app open because I’ve had to download and rate another heart app to go with the first one I haven’t gotten open. I will be finding another app.

Thank you for your feedback, and we're sorry to hear about your experience. HeartScan handles sensitive health-related data, and we strictly follow all legal and privacy regulations. Hi girls

Hi

How can I cancel?

No explanations for readings. No customer support at all. I need to cancel now. However, i have not found out how to cancel. Feels like a scam.

OK

I got a lot of red lines it turns out those are are arrhythmias

DO NOT DOWNLOAD

I downloaded and now can’t find any way to cancel.

True to description

This app does exactly as it describes, refreshing it does so

Useless

Just downloaded the app for the first time, did the scan and I can’t access any of the results without paying! And it says my free subscription expired… I’ve had the app for less than 5 minutes and never used any free subscription. Why on earth would I pay $20 per month without a trial to see if I like it. No thanks! Don’t bother downloading unless you just want to pay right out the gate.

Scam!!!

Don’t get this app!
It reports numerous artifacts and gives a completely erroneous report.
I asked them to cancel well before renewal date, and they continued to charge me!

Apple - pl remove this app from the menu!

Response from developer

We're sorry to hear the app didn't meet your expectations and for any inconvenience regarding the subscription charges. We're constantly working on improving the quality and accuracy of the heart data recording. As for the payment issue, all transactions are handled through Apple, and cancellation needs to be done from your end. We provide instructions on how to unsubscribe, and we're here to assist if you have any difficulties following those steps.

Can’t open

Downloaded, deleted, downloaded several times but can’t get past the disclaimer screen.

Response from developer

We're eager to resolve this for you. Please contact us directly so we can troubleshoot this problem together. Your experience is important to us, and we're committed to ensuring you can use the app smoothly. (fixed)

Fairly accurate

It amazed me how accurate this app is and comparable to my Kardia 1 lead and Apple Watch EKG.

Understanding

It would be nice to be able to understand what this means. I had one where it said out of 85 cycles there were 33 cycles that differ from the average cycles, but I don’t know what. Wish the app told you more to understand so I could make a decision on whether to go to hospital or not !!!

Response from developer

It sounds like the position during measurement might have affected your results. I suggest trying the measurement again, ensuring the device is correctly positioned. Additionally, exporting the results and discussing them with your doctor could provide valuable insights. While our app aims to offer helpful data, professional medical advice is crucial, especially when deciding on actions like going to the hospital. We're working on making our explanations clearer, so users have a better understanding of their health metrics. Thank you for your feedback.

Confused

Right side up this thing measures constant palpitations, but if I flip my phone upside down it measures none.

Response from developer

The variation in sensor placements across different smartphone models and the diversity in body shapes and heart positions can indeed affect the readings. This suggests that finding the optimal placement for your device is key to getting accurate measurements. We recommend experimenting with different positions to discover the most reliable placement for your specific device and body type.

Spelling errors and no summary of findings

It’s difficult to understand the significance of the readings without a summary. Also cycle is incorrectly spelled “Circle” and “cicle”.

Response from developer

We understand the challenge of interpreting the readings without a clear summary and the importance of accurate information. Due to legal constraints, we can't provide medical advice, but we're committed to enhancing the app with more comprehensive information. This will help users better understand their results in a straightforward manner. Additionally, we appreciate you pointing out the spelling mistakes and will address these errors promptly

This didn’t work for me

I downloaded and went to read terms and conditions and/or privacy notice and it informed me there was a critical error. So I didn’t accept to go further

Response from developer

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. We apologize for the inconvenience you've experienced. Can you please provide more details about the error you encountered? Your feedback is valuable to us and helps improve the app. Feel free to share any suggestions.

Diagnostics

It’s a great analysis but there’s not enough information about how to read the info. The app needs a written overview of what the diagnostic data means health-wise.

When should you be alarmed, contact your physician, head to emergency, etc.

I did a scan and there was red all over it. I went online but couldn’t figure out good and bad or how bad is bad.

I scanned my husband and his reports had no red lines and everything was in the normal range. His Seismocardiogram had 0 deviations while mine had 14.

Response from developer

Thank you for your feedback! We're glad you find the analysis helpful. We understand the importance of clear guidance and will work on adding more explanations within the app. It's always recommended to share your results with a physician for proper interpretation (using our "export as PDF" feature). Feel free to suggest any improvements you'd like to see.
