About
The cloud has a climate. Heatprint shows you where.
Heatprint maps over 4,000 data centers worldwide and overlays the regional climate context every facility runs on — the electricity grid that powers it, the drought stress in its region, the local air quality, and the carbon intensity of every kilowatt it pulls.
Built for journalists, ESG analysts, policy researchers, and anyone who wants to know what's behind the cloud icon.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
- Browse 4,000+ facilities on an interactive Apple Maps view, clustered for speed and color-coded by grid carbon intensity.
- Tap any facility for a profile sheet: operator, address, fabric/peering presence, EPA eGRID 2023 carbon intensity for the local grid region, current air quality, multi-year temperature trend, and US Drought Monitor stress level.
- Search by city, operator, or fabric to find a specific facility in seconds.
- Filter the map by operator, region, or grid intensity to focus on what matters.
- Cite every figure: each data point links back to its primary source — EPA eGRID, NOAA Climate Data Online, EPA AirNow, US Drought Monitor, PeeringDB — so anything you read here can be footnoted in a story or report.
DATA YOU CAN TRUST
Heatprint is built on public, government-grade datasets. We do not estimate, model, or invent figures — every number is either disclosed by the operator or pulled from a federal source, and the source badge on each metric tells you which. Where the underlying data is modeled (e.g. grid intensity is regional, not per-facility), we label it as such.
- Facility list: PeeringDB
- Grid carbon intensity: EPA eGRID 2023
- Temperature history: NOAA Climate Data Online (CDO)
- Air quality: EPA AirNow
- Drought: US Drought Monitor
HEATPRINT PRO ($19.99 — pay once, yours forever)
A single one-time unlock. No subscriptions. No tiered plans.
- Compare up to four facilities side-by-side on grid mix, drought, and emissions
- Export citation-ready Markdown for any facility — every metric with its source URL
- Multi-year climate trends per facility
- Operator portfolio view — see every facility a hyperscaler runs in one place
- Offline reading — every facility you visit auto-caches for the next flight
- Watchlist alerts when a region's drought or grid mix shifts materially
PRIVACY
Heatprint collects nothing. No accounts, no tracking, no analytics SDKs. The optional NOAA and EPA AirNow API keys you can paste in Settings are stored on this device only and never leave it. The app makes outbound requests only to PeeringDB, NOAA, EPA, and the US Drought Monitor — all public APIs.
