Confused / is it working?

Installed the app onto my iPad. For the most part it seems to work. However, if I use my external keyboard, the settings in the app are ignored. I am trying to play solo-saxophone with my midi keyboard. However, no matter what settings I set - the external midi keyboard gives the same sounds (not saxophone).

The best horn emulator available.

This app has literally changed my musical life. I love Jamaican music and Big Band. However, although I can play most instruments, I cannot play brass. This is the solution. I play it through my m audio keyboard using usually three or four tracks dedicated for brass layers. The best part is that they have come the closest you can to solving the issue of nuance with brass instruments. There are several different textures and combinations to choose from as well such as: doits, shakes, falls, crescendos, etc.

Pretty good

I love it! Congratulations on making a great app

One pointer, the keyboard is very small and makes it VERY HARD to attempt to play the right notes

Needs another update ASAP

Using iPad Pro 14.6 and sounds grt! Had to repost review. I thought software was glitchy, found out it was my 3.5 aux cord going bad. Brass instruments are just what I needed in my Arsenal. Already produced a song in first hour. Nice job guys. 5 star. 👍

Wow just wow

Bloody heck this is amazing, just wait till the lads in the band I am in hears this, it will blow there minds. I am very impressed at the quality and realism. Top marks guys.

Really amazing sounds

Easily 5 stars

Epico!

Very epic!

Keyboard needs to be bigger

I love the sounds on this app. Absolutely fantastic.
Nut I like to record using the iPad and the keyboard on the app is just too small to use fingers to form chords. Love to see a keyboard mode that you could use after choosing the sounds you want to work with

Thanks for listening

Fix trombone

friends, greetings, congratulations on the application, heavy brass is excellent, it just seems to me that they should correct something and the trombone does not sound clearly, it lacks presence, it is the only negative thing, please take my opinion into account, thank you

Wish it would work with the iPhone 7s plus

See titles… Overall I am very pleased with the different effects

Blimey - SUPERB instruments but I am so slow to review!

...So slow in fact, I completed an entire song, where Heavy Brass was - here it comes - instrumental in the creation and finished track, and it’s on iTunes already. Search for ‘Hot Woman Cool T-bird’ if you are interested. Artist is ‘Richard Getts’. Sorry, Christian, this tardiness is unforgivable.

This music app is SUPERB, I haven’t got one better. I have the D1 synth, I have GB obviously, and so on, but nothing comes close. The sounds ‘Heavy Brass’ delivers are STONKING, and I really genuinely am ashamed I have done reviews for much less impressive apps/instrument samples, long, long ago.

Five stars, not a problem. We need to separate out tech issues, from the instrument itself. I can see some of the negatives, are basically tech issues over running problems. This is not a Heavy Brass issue in all likelihood - between Apple fiddling with AU3/IAA, and the lack of memory a lot of devices have, it’s really not Christian’s/Crudebyte’s fault I suspect, if there are glitches.

I run it for my track Hot Woman Cool T-bird (yup I’m a-gonna bang on about it), in several sessions simultaneously, on my iPad Pro 2, with the max half-Terabyte of memory I could get on-board.

I just looked at it now - it’s running in SIX instances, now not all are sounding at the same time, and for ‘doubling up’ I did pre-record in another song in the DAW, but if I compare that with some five-star rated music instrument apps, this is beyond what they could handle.

I cannot even recall if it’s IAA or AU3 - it’s been THAT smooth an experience for me. There are other music apps, Boy, do I know the ins and outs of their tech side. Yet, in theory at least, they only produce a similar sound. Perhaps the way Heavy Brass samples and replays stuff is particularly efficient.

Christian Schoenebeck - I doff my cap, mate. You are an absolute star, and this app, entirely made my single I uploaded to ‘CDBaby’ possible. The expressive nature, the authenticity, just the whole thing, I just peg this creation as top-notch. Why you got four stars, is down to tech glitches I wouldn’t doubt are instigated outside of your control.

To give you an idea of how much I love the app - and it is love - I went through looking for it on my iphone, forgetting it’s not available there, and was just about weeping ‘cos I couldn’t find it. Had it been sunk by Apple’s tech ‘advances’? No, I just forgot it’s the ipad it’s for.

Beautiful app, beautiful sounds. Yes, it’s a glowing review, I cannot fault this piece of work. Rock/Jazz fusion on, Christian.

Best to all

Works on Linnstrument!!!

This app works very well with the Linnstrument controller. The app is stable most of the time, but I have experienced some crashing. I really am impressed with the sounds. I would like the developer to expand the sound set even more. Admittedly, this is one of the first set of this type that I own. The user interface seems intuitive at first glance, but sometimes it’s hard to know which sounds you’ve selected due to the multiple layers selected. In other words, sometimes I just want to pick a single sound and find instead multiple layers playing. The reverbs and the echoes effects are a nice touch. These effects are simple, intuitive and very useful, although basic. Please fix the “pitch bend range” toggle to be less tedious! If more sounds were added and issues fixed I would give 5 stars. Overall, this is a nice addition and worth the money.

Realistic horns

Best on iOS. Very high quality and great variety and articulations.

Very realistic yet feasible to them without knowledge

Simply superb

Really all the brass you’ll ever need for your iOS compositions. Tons of choices. Very nice combination and solo sounds and plenty of room for tweaking. Really well done.

If you have Ruismaker, run this in the background. David Byrne would be proud!!!

Sounds are terrific

This is as good as iSymphony Orchestra for way less money. I hope it works in MainStage, that would be ideal. Long ago in Florida I spent an evening listening to a guy playing a hard ware synth that had a great trombone section effect, and since getting my iPad Pro I have been trying synths to get that. With iSymph and Heavy Brass, I’m there at last. Yay!

Misleading

I use GarageBand a ton. I’ve written over a hundred songs on it and on it, it has a thing you can tap on to get more instruments and I thought I would be able to use this on GarageBand because this was one of the options when I tapped on that, but I can’t use this with GarageBand, so I can’t make songs like I want to and so it was a waste of ten dollars. I would’ve been totally fine paying that if I could use it on there.

You did not fix you interface

How idiotic! can this be. Your selection buttons are dark gray background when not selected and white background when selected. Only when selected is it readable and when not selected it is most difficult to read. THIS NEEDS TO BE INVERTED!!!

I love this app

Please don't pay attention to the weird reviews, this is the best and most realistic brass app. Sounds amazing, I wish I had it on my mac as well. If you are thinking about it, do it!

Drum Corps Sound

Love this for ‘DCI sound’ and trying for ‘Latin Regional’ effect. Using in AUE on my IPad 12” Pro Garage Band...but it won’t work in ‘Inter App Audio’.

Your reverb effects do not work in AUE, by the way.
