fixed my speaking anxiety

I learned about this app through TikTok and thought it would be another Duolingo but it's not! I've been self-studying for N5 for months and could read/write okay but completely froze when trying to speak. After a few weeks with Hello Sensei my speaking has improved immensely, because the AI conversations force you to speak in real-time. This app has a ton of potential for anyone who's stuck in that 'can study but can't speak' trap.

How I love this game

First time writing a review and I love this game! It helped me so much because all of my family speak Spanish except me so I’m hoping I get to speak the language with them! Id honestly rate it more than a 5 star review if I could!

Could’ve been a good app..

Wish this app didn’t use such dark language and vibe. Why include things like demonic language and refer to users as lost souls.. I just wanted to learn a language not align myself with such darkness. I will find a lighter app to use.

Our goal is to make language learning immersive like stepping into an anime, and the devil-themed onboarding was our attempt at tapping into a familiar fantasy trope. But we clearly missed the mark in tone and sensitivity here, and we appreciate you calling that out. The good news: everything beyond onboarding is 100% wholesome: full of practical, slice-of-life scenarios without demonic references or dark themes.
