Ever wanted to write an entire board game?
You will have to enter literally every single thing in the game into the app before it can even be used. Want to play a class, you will have to enter it from scratch defining its stats, defenses, skills, starting items, starting abilities, and all level up abilities, but before you can even do that you have to define all keywords and sets before you even get started. Then you will have to enter every personal item, gear card, artifact, injury, madness, mutation, bag token, etc. etc. etc… Just use a character sheet and save a few bucks. Also as you are doing all of this the app will crash about every 3-5 things you enter. But, if you manage to finish entering every item in the game, it tracks your character decently well.

A lot of work, but worth it
Having to input everything is a pain, but this app is by far the best way I’ve found to organize and track my characters through a campaign. Fortunately the text scanner has made this a lot easier and faster.
My only real complaint is there isn’t a way of inputting dark stone cost on gear like there is on upgrades. It’s small, but whenever everything else is so automated I tend to forget it.
If you’re on the fence about getting this I’d suggest it. It’s worth the money.

Thanks for pointing out that gear and artifacts can have dark stone cost to purchase. That feature can be added to a future release.
Unusable
Unusable and that’s the nicest thing I can say about it. Not a licensed product which means you just get a template for Heroes, items, and abilities which wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing if the app didn’t crash every 6 seconds which about sums up this review. If you’d like to persist with this program, make sure to save after every single thing you enter and know that it will still take multiple tries to get it to save. Would be willing to change rating if stability issues could be resolved.

Crashes constantly
Cannot input any Abilities without it crashing. Tired of spending 15 minutes imputing characters just to have it crashed and lose it all.
Has issues, but potential
To start off, I am currently using this on an iPhone 12 Pro with iOS 14.5. The last update to the app was about 2 months ago at the time of writing.
The app definitely has some stability issues when you’re first adding content. This seems to be primarily around Hero-related data for Abilities, Starting Upgrades, and Upgrade Paths. You are able to work around this by adding the other hero data first, saving, and then slowly going back in to add those item one at a time. It is tedious. It will crash. Copy/Paste is your friend. Getting an entry added tends to work better when you just do one letter / word, save/confirm, back out, and then go back in.
The other thing I can’t figure out is item upgrades. I have added items to the Upgrade Item database, but I can’t figure out how to apply those upgrades to Gear or an Artifact. My current workaround is adding a new custom Gear/Artifact with the necessary upgrade to the database, but that makes things cluttered.
There is also not a section for adding things that can be bought while in Town but this is easy enough to add as a Gear.
I’m also not certain where cards like Elemental Magik, Ninja Clan, or Sermon Class cards are supposed to be entered.
Once everything is in (barring the limitations above), using the app is great. Having your stat totals displayed and being able to click in and see WHY your stat value is that number is amazing. You can add Custom Modifiers for level up bonuses, etc. it looks like the developer may have started adding additional body modifications options and then never fully implemented, but this is a great companion app after you put some time and effort in.

Nice app but crashes during data input.
Great to have but I wish it wouldn’t crash every time I go to input data. Then upon loading the app back up what i just put in has disappeared. Needs to be fixed badly.
Garbage UI, buggy
Major issue with keywords, can’t get them to save, go back and shows no selections, can’t save entry, accidentally tap anywhere at all and bam all your data entry is wiped out and you have to key it all back in - fix your UI this is garbage
Changed my mind
Once I figured it out it’s pretty good. I hate having to load all my own stuff in as it takes forever but I understand the legal reasons why.

Turn on icloud
We would love to use this app. We bought it but found out it can't be sync'd through icloud. This is highly discouraging as we will have to add everything twice. Otherwise I think this would be great! Help us link the app for ourvgame group.

Can you provide more information? I am unable to reproduce the error you are describing. After entering the information for the upgrade, you have to use the back arrow to get to the main hero class edit screen, then click on the blue check mark to save. Clicking the red x or swiping down to dismiss will not save changes.
Unusable due to bug
Good concept but extremely buggy. Biggest problem making it borderline unusable: It is set to automatically calculate character stats considering gear/ability modifiers, but fails at this horribly. It calculates this about 25% of the time. So each time you look at the sheet the stats is different, depending on if the app randomly decides to add the modifiers or not. It would stop adding when, for example: you pick up a gear, you look at a different character, you look at the database, or you quit and enter the app again. Please, if possible, allow user to turn off this auto calculation and let user enter the stats manually. Also the app would randomly double the number of items you are carrying too , which is pretty ridiculous.
*bonus: also found out that any character note you write is randomly lost. This app shouldn’t be released in this broken state and more so shouldn’t charge for $$

Can you please provide more information on how you are using the app in play? This behavior has not been noted by other play testers except for the “double items” issue when using iCloud.
