Makes claims it cannot perform. Does not have the ability to actually convert H.264 to H.265 as they claim. It will load and crash on you. Waste of money. Not sure how Apple is allowing this type of scam to be permitted. Superbe
Super, l’application VidCompact est à 3,99 €, un prix abordable pour mon usage. Elle encode rapidement en x265 : une vidéo de 10 minutes a été convertie en moins de deux minutes sur mon iPad Pro avec puce M (au minimum). Je vais tester davantage pour repérer d’éventuels défauts. Si ça ne convient pas, je résilierai ; sinon, je continuerai.

Saves space, but quality can suffer
Don’t delete the old video until you use some sort of frame exporter (not screenshots!) to compare the exact frame of the converted video to the original. I’ve noticed a severe drop in quality with conversion to HEVC (265) even though resolution was set to the preserve original.
Otherwise great app. And without subscription, which is super rare these days. Everything is garbage subscriptions now.

Eine der wenigen Apps, die ich erworben habe. Ich konvertiere ständig Videos auf dem Ipad pro. Man kann auch keine Videos mehr über den Dateiexplorer von außerhalb der Galerie konvertieren, die App stürzt jedesmal ab. Leider funktioniert die App auf dem M1 unter macOS auch nicht, das UI ist zerstört. Wann wird es einmal ein Update für dieses Kaufprogramm geben?

CRASHES
Application consistently crashes, even when selecting smaller files to convert. Very disappointing, hopefully there is some sort of fix for this issue in the future. Until then, it is 100% useless converting my Videos from my canon
Crashes after first step
Attempting to convert a 6 minute HEVC file crashes immediately after first conversion step. Went and allowed full file/photo access to see if it was a security issue and it crashed at the same place. May need an update to work properly with iOS17.3

Excellent App & Easy to Use
I’ve used another of Dongwook Cho’s apps, HEIC2JPG, to convert HEIC picture files to jpgs. Like that app, this one is very easy and intuitive to use and works extremely well. This guy writes great apps and doesn’t gobble your privacy data. The apps just get the job done! You can’t beat the price; especially if you have a Family Sharing setup.

This app does not actually convert the format from h.265 to h.264 and freezes or crashes continuously.

I never got this app to work successfully. The main issue is that it misidentifies h.265 files as h.264, therefore making it impossible to convert between formats.
Converts well, but no save options
This works great to convert videos to/from H.264 and H.265, but unfortunately if you have a series of videos, as I did, the new files simply get new sequential filenames, so you can’t tell which files are H.264 and which are H.265. Worse, the sequential filenames are in the reverse order of the original filenames. I had a series of 20 videos in chronological order; the converted files are in reverse chronological order by filename. I would like it to convert files in the correct order and indicate in the filename whether 264 or 265. Also the option to replace the original files would be nice. It’s a real pain to manually match up which files are which and rename them properly.
