What's New in HexStride

1.1

September 30, 2026

Plan a walk: long-press anywhere to walk there, or plan a loop stop by stop and follow it turn by turn. See what a route would claim before you go. Levels: every walk earns points, and every level a new title. Hot hexagons: three near you every day, worth a bonus when you claim them. Medals, first-week goals, and a loop that fills on the map the moment you close it. The map drifts round you at rest, your avatar shows the GPS, and Back to you brings you home from anywhere. Rivals' ground now loads across the whole map. Cleaner, with much less text.

FAQ

How does HexStride work?

HexStride turns streets into hexagonal territories. When you walk or run, the hexagons you cover become yours. Closing a loop claims all hexagons within it. Claims are earned solely through physical movement, with verification at hexstride.app/fair-play.

Can I lose ground in HexStride?

Yes, rivals can claim your ground. To defend a hexagon, you must walk it again to harden it. A rival needs one walk to crack a layer and another to take it. Losing ground stops your score from climbing but never subtracts from it.

Does HexStride have ads?

No, HexStride is ad-free. The app is designed with privacy in mind, featuring no ads, no analytics that track you, and no data sales. Your routes remain private on your phone.

What are the subscription options for HexStride?

HexStride offers a monthly subscription for $3.99/month and an annual subscription for $29.99/year. Both plans include a 14-day free trial.

Is HexStride suitable for all ages?

HexStride has an age rating of 4+, making it suitable for younger users. The gameplay focuses on walking and claiming territory, which is generally accessible.

How often is HexStride updated?

The latest version of HexStride is 1.1, and it was last updated on September 30, 2026. This indicates a recent update, suggesting ongoing development and support.

What devices does HexStride support?

Can I share my progress or walks from HexStride?
