Missed opportunity
I would love to watch a channel that I used to love!! I unfortunately do not have cable now, and would like to pay for the app monthly. Unfortunately, this is not an option.

Keeps telling me network not in tv package yet DISH logo clearly visible. What is going on? Been paying for hgtv and the rest for years.
Ads, ads, and more ads!!
The amount of ads, and repetitive ads, makes this app almost unwatchable. And once you’re stuck in a 6+ ad loop, don’t expect to be able to rewind or start a show over. You have to wait several minutes before you can do anything. I almost had my husband willing to watch hgtv with me, until he experienced this ad nightmare with me. We saw the same commercial 3 times during each commercial break!

I really think this amount of personal tracking is not needed or respected.
Gone downhill!
Used to enjoy this channel but now it’s the same old stuff - slow turnover of shows! ALSO, now it’s full of gaming/online casino ads that cheapen what used to be a great app to watch!!
Locked content
Although I linked the app to my tv provider which includes HGTV, I am unable to watch locked content. I receive error message indicating that my provider does not have the channel, which I watch constantly on my tv.

I downloaded this app to my Samsung TV. It's horrible! Here's why...
- In watching an HGTV program, as well as in the myriad of commercials, the sound/voices do not synch up with the mouths moving! Like watching a poorly dubbed Japanese movie or show. Uninstalling and reinstalling/restarting TV and app does NOT fix the problem. The voices speak before the mouths move even on the ads.
- Can't get back to "Home" screen. Whatever HGTV show I watched last, is what appears on screen the next time I use the app. I see nothing to click on the screen or on my remote to get back to main home screen to choose a different show. Again, uninstalling/reinstalling and restarting TV and app does not resolve the problem. NOTE::: Because I can’t get back to Home Screen to choose a different show, I do not know if the problem with the audio not matching up to the mouths is a problem with ALL shows and ads, or just the episodes of shows I’ve been watching (entire Season 1 and Season 2 of “My Lottery Dream Home”
- Lots and lots of commercials!! At least 18 commercials for only a 30 minute show, which of course cannot be fast-forwarded/skipped in an app.
Going to delete this app and hope that down the road, it is updated to work correctly.

Irritating
Why do I have to link my tv provider every few hours? Do you have a plethora of people watching your shows; isn’t that the purpose of your app? Do you not want people to watch your programs. I just had to link my tv provider for the third time today!? If you don’t want consumers using the app close down the app.

More commercials than programming
The number of commercials on this app are ridiculous!!! The commercials, and the content have equal time, no thanks!!
Lots of ads, a little HGTV
Watched a 30 minute show that had a total of 20 ads (three ad breaks with 6, 6, and 8 respectively). I get that ads are necessary but this is a bit much. It feels like you get a short hgtv break in the middle of your ads instead of the other way around.

Thank you for responding. Yes, that does sound like my experience. However, while each ad block may be limited to 3 minutes, by the time I have to watch 3 of them, it is a total of 9 minutes which is almost a third of the length of the 30 minute show. I’d prefer the ads not take up 1/3 of the time. But maybe that’s an unrealistic expectation these days?

Fails to login w/TV Provider DirecTV
This is the second app tied to MAX that I am having issues w/ trying to connect to using DirecTV. It fails to login using DirecTV credentials. Contacted DirecTV & it’s not on the end it’s on the apps end. Not a happy experience w/this app or any app connected to the same company & I do not recommend this app until these issue is resolved

Hunk of junk
Problems with this app include chronic closing on its own and loss of video. Reinstall does not fix the issues. Other streaming apps on the same device don’t have these problems. It’s not worth having an app that works this poorly.
