About

HIBster SafeConnect gives schools a practical way to manage phones without buying pouches, collecting devices, or watching what students do on their phones. Each morning, students open the app and select Start My School Day. That is it. There is no classroom to choose, door tag to tap, or code to scan. The school’s bell schedule handles when phone protection turns on and off. Students keep their phones with them. Schools avoid collection lines, storage problems, lost pouches, and end-of-day unlocking. If a student is absent, sick, or away on a field trip and does not start their school day, their phone stays unrestricted. For school staff The roster gives staff a clear picture of what is happening. They can see who started their school day, whose phone is protected, who has an approved exception, and which phones may need attention. Rosters can sync with the district’s student information system, so staff do not have to create or maintain lists by hand. For families Parents can see whether their child started the school day and whether the phone last reported that protection was working. They can also read school notices, find important contact information, and reach the front office through the app. For students Students always know what is happening with their phone. The app shows whether protection is on and when the next schedule change is coming. Students can request an exception, send an anonymous safety report, find wellness resources, or use Emergency Access when they need help. The Phone app and 911 remain available. How it works on iPhone SafeConnect uses Apple’s Screen Time controls to close distracting apps during phone-free times. Messages, FaceTime, and Safari follow the school schedule. Messages still arrive and wait. SafeConnect cannot read, delete, or filter them. Students see what the app will do before granting Screen Time access. Privacy comes first SafeConnect reports whether phone protection is working. It does not report what a student is doing on their phone. The school cannot see browsing history, messages, app-usage history, screenshots, keystrokes, contacts, or location. Optional campus reminders are handled on the phone, and location never leaves the device. No bags. No device collection. No invasive monitoring. Just a clearer way to support a phone-free school day.
