Great fun little app
Interesting news stories and ghostly/gruesome tales. The layout is dimple, clean and easy to use whether you are browsing stories or using the location map. It would be great if it extended to cover all of Tyneside
Needs some updating it seems.
I was lead to this app by an article in the Chronicle. It is really interesting, but not all the locations mentioned in the article are on the app. I hope this is an oversight on behalf of the devs and is going to be corrected soon.
Fantastic App
This is a brilliant app and a great way to learn about the hidden history of our beautiful city. I can't wait to visit some of the site in here, I'll definitely look at the city differently.

Although nice interface i found it frustrating
I didn't like the way the information was presented and i found a lack of varied ways of listing things. I also found the info non useful.
Inaccurate information
Quite a good idea, but locations are not quite right on map. The lieutenant colonel Hobson file on the map is directing you to a different church and on further reading the amount of witches buried at the location is also incorrect.
If sorted, could be good. Be better if could link the locations from this app to iPhone maps as a pin.

A great look at Tyneside History
This App is fantastic. It's really interesting to read and hear about some of Newcastles past and past people. It's great to open up archives like this and it is done in such a fantastic way. This should be done more and this app should be used as the benchmark to work by.
Excellent App
Great app. Lived in Newcastle all my life.... Rarely ventured to the local places of interest, Bessy Surtees house etc but this app makes me want to get out there and listen to the stories locked in this app. Well done TW Museums!!

Really great idea from Newcastle Archives- and wonderfully executed. Definitely worth the download if you're from the area, or even if you're just interested in the history of ordinary people. Will make a walk around town that extra bit interesting now!
