Hidden Portals: Eternal Balance by LynxMinx
Although the graphics were absolutely gorgeous and the gameplay was interesting, this adventure was plagued by quality assurance issues. The storyline was a combination of restoring balance and harmony between worlds and resurrection. Domini only has two: this one and the oft-used stealing souls to resurrect a demon or loved one, in this case the latter. There is no strategy guide whatsoever, except for collectibles. There is only one type of collectible, an hourglass icon, and there are 140 of them. They were miserable to find. The collectibles indicator on the map was hard to view and didn’t function half of the time. You guys pay to have a working and comprehensive guide, not just for collectibles but for general gameplay. A new gamer would have been quite confused. The lack of touchscreen sensitivity on the gameplay interface was sometimes decent, and other times appalling. You had to endure two one-hour sales timer clocks. But the worst thing that I have experienced so far is that once again, the mini-game screen was embedded across the entire gameplay interface, and this is an unforgivable glitch. No wonder the App Store kept disallowing the game. I don’t know how it was even released in this deplorable condition!
This game was magnificent and the gameplay addictively good, but the negative issues outweighed the positive aspects to a very large degree. At least the HO scenes (which had NO match-3 alternative) had an interesting variety, coupled with plenty of mini-games. The gameplay was quite lengthy, inclusive of the bonus adventure. After you finished the bonus adventure, there is no option to replay the HO scenes or mini-games! This game did not give you the bang you should have gotten for whatever you guys paid. Also, don’t bother to hunt down those collectibles. I missed 3 and you can’t go back and find them. They only unlock one additional HO scene anyway.
I honestly did not know how to rate the game. On the one hand it was exquisite and the gameplay and inventory usage was novel and enchanting, but on the other there were too many negative aspects. I guess that I will split it down the middle and rate it as average, at 3 stars. Believe me, I’m being quite generous! Domini needs to get their ducks in a row. The gamers did not get their money’s worth in this game. However, they did get a lot of frustration! Believe me, I have read Oleg the riot act.

There were no procedural problems with the game but rating is due to a strategy guide that is incomplete, and no match 3 option for the HO scenes. The graphics, while beautifully done, are distracting and the items necessary for completing tasks are unreal and illogical.
