Hide My Text helps you protect private text and files before you share them.
Write a message or bring supported text and files into Hide My Text from another app using the iPhone share menu. Choose a trusted contact, group, or broadcast list, protect your content, then send the encrypted result through the messaging or email app you already use.
Only the trusted recipients you selected can reveal it.
IMPORT FROM OTHER APPS
Share supported content to Hide My Text, then open the app to receive it and choose your recipient. Longer text is preserved as a text file. Temporary imports expire after 10 minutes.
CLEAN PHOTO METADATA
Create a fresh copy of a supported photo with its original embedded metadata removed. Your original photo stays unchanged. Cleaning may change image quality, dimensions, and file size; it does not hide anything visible in the photo.
PROTECT TEXT AND FILES
Protect private messages and supported files up to 25 MB, including documents, photos, and videos.
CONTACTS, GROUPS AND BROADCAST LISTS
Pair using invitation and response QR codes, scanned nearby or imported as shared images. Compare the safety phrase before confirming trust. Use groups for shared replies or broadcast lists for owner-only sending.
LOCAL-FIRST PRIVACY
No Hide My Text account, email address, or phone number required.
No Hide My Text messaging server.
No cloud message history.
Your keys are stored locally in an encrypted vault. The delivery app you choose still carries the protected content and may process information such as who shared it and when.
RECOVERY AND BACKUP
Keep your recovery phrase and encrypted vault backup somewhere safe. Together, they let you restore your identity and recover saved records when changing phones. Restored contacts require verification again.
Use Backup Health Check to check a saved encrypted backup without restoring it or changing trust.
