Great direction, flawed execution

I absolutely love the fact this app is focused on intentional dating based around faith and values. Unfortunately there are a couple design choices that are preventing it from being effective. I’d really like to see this app live up to its potential, but the fact that it hasn’t been updated in 2 years makes me think that won’t happen.

Showing a limited, curated selection of profiles per day is great for the intentional matchmaking aspect of the app, but the filtering options are far too limited for this approach, resulting in most daily profiles being uninteresting. Additionally, even if more precise filtering or questionnaire based matchmaking were added, 5 per day is still too low. Physical attraction is very subjective, so it is a bit of a numbers game to get two mutually attracted people matched. Lastly, the fact that non-premium users cannot send likes at all is absolutely killing any momentum within the community. As a result, the majority of users just set up their profile and then check out, hoping to receive a like. They have no reason to look at potential matches, as they have no way of interacting with them unless the other person happens to be a paying member. I say this as a premium member myself, free users should at least get a trickle of free likes to give them a reason to engage with the app and view their daily matches.

The above factors all come together to make a stagnant user experience where nothing ever happens. Other Christian dating apps rely on a sheer numbers approach where unlimited swiping means you have to sift through countless bad matches yourself, but at least you can actually find the good matches among them. Here, that agency is taken away from the user on the premise that those best matches will be curated. Unfortunately, it looks like it will continue to fail to do so until some more work is put in.

It’s okay, but there’s practically no one here

I’ve been getting the same ones showing up for the past few months and haven’t seen anyone new so it seems like no one is on this app.

E for effort I guess.

no customer support

no response or customer support at all. Would not let me edit my location, even if I’m moving. I was a member for a month and was never allowed to see more than the original five people I was allowed to see at first.

Quality vs. Quantity

I really appreciate the quality versus quantity approach that Higher Bond uses to suggest matches. It demands a much more thoughtful and respectful approach to dating compared to the “cattle call” nature of other dating apps.

Fantastic

An incredible dating site that ensures truthfulness and great value!

Matches Don’t reply to messages and Like

Poor app. Not much users here. Just repeated the same users. I sent messages to a lot of users but no one replied. I also connected with a scammer here who tried to manipulate me.

A complete waste of time…

My matches have been the same from the beginning. I don’t know if anyone is alive behind those pictures. No contact and no responses.

Can’t talk to anyone???

I think the general principle of this app is good, but why am I not able to talk to anyone? I’ve sent multiple members messages but have never heard back. Is there a bug? Are people just leaving? Is there something wrong with my profile? No clue. All I know is that there have been a lot of members I’ve been genuinely interested in getting to know that I can’t. What gives???

Filters

I think this app has a lot of good things—the 5 daily picks are great to avoid burnout! But the lack of filters is a pretty big drawback. My main issue is that even though I set my age range, people outside of the preference can still see me and try to match. This means that men who are 10+ years older have me in their daily picks, but I would never be open to such an age gap. I don’t think that’s fair, to them or to me. Also, I would love an option to block certain numbers or profiles, or at least get to remove them from “interested in me” tab—one person that tried to match was someone from my church. It would be nice to quietly remove them without a formal rejection.

TERRIBLE

It’s been the same 6 matches for over 3 months now, and I live in a major city. I can’t believe they market this as a Christian app while scamming people out of their hard earned money. No I’m not going to “expand my distance” to other cities when I live in a city of over 200,000 people… if you don’t have enough users to support your business don’t charge people for your services. Ridiculous.

Awesome

I love this app

Same five men

I signed up for a “lifetime membership “thinking that it would be cheaper than a six month or three month subscription. I’ve been on this site religiously for two weeks and the only matches that come up. Are the same five men every time. I assume they are so disgusted with it they probably never check in to see if they have a match. No refund no answers, but they have my money but no service to me.

A truly Christian website

Finally, a truly Christian dating website. This is the outcome of my prayers. I feel safe. I’m trusting God all the way and I’m so glad I found this site.

Real people

I have done a lot of dating apps and I am so happy that this one is very careful to make sure only real people sign up.

Too Small

Way too small of a dating pool. I had their premium service for 2 1/2 years, and all I saw were the same 5 people every single day. Great concept, terrible execution.

It’s all fraud

They give same old few day after day. Before you become paid member they tempt you with good matches but once you become a member then you don’t get any thing. No wonder why they have lifetime membership because you have to search your entire life and wait for entire life. They have tattoo guys, drinking and smoking and no mention of education qualifications. Even though you have a preference and it doesn’t work. All these apps are name sake traps. Don’t believe it. Find someone in person. Don’t waste your time and money.

Don’t waste your time

I was humiliated by this company. I am a Christ loving female. I took the time to faithfully fill out the profile information. I was very excited to find a safe platform to finally be able to meet someone. I was told i would hear back from the company after a few days. I never heard anything. So I assume because I am a divorced person I was not selected. Or perhaps because I’m 48 years old? I wont try again, thanks for destroying my confidence

User-friendly

I’ve been on Higher Bond for about a week. The app is well set up and easy to use, very user friendly.

Different Experience

For sure different than most apps. I’ve been dating on apps since 2017 and this is the first time I feel like I am not overwhelmed by potential matches. I feel at home on this app due to its faith-orientation more than the other app I am currently on.

Though the app is still just a mustard seed, I have no doubt it will eventually house the fowls of the air.

Matching feature

The matching feature is great and how it gives you new people each day, i personally would like to be able to start more then one conversation per set of matches, but I understand the motive of trying to guard our hearts.
