What's New in Hikt

2.4.0

July 27, 2026

New: Multiple Gear Closets Keep separate closets for home, the cottage, the van — wherever your gear actually lives — and switch between them from the Gear Closet title. Everything you already own stays in your default closet, kits always move together, and packing lists still search every closet, with a badge showing where each item came from. Also in this update: - Closet and per-category price totals, right beside the weights you already track - Purchase and retire-by dates, with a badge and its own sort mode for gear that's aging out - Custom categories now get an icon you pick and a color of their own - Trip dates and a link on your lists — the permit page, the trail report, the shuttle booking - Item photos on list rows, and your scroll position is waiting where you left it - Correct a weight in your closet and Hikt offers to update it on every list it appears on - Swipe a wishlist item right to add it straight to your gear closet - Better gear terminology in eight languages, thanks to hikers who wrote in

User reviews

Super useful!

My wife and I had been using LighterPack, but we wanted something more collaborative between lists. So we transferred everything to Hikt.

While it’s not perfect (yet), the developer has been phenomenal in listening to input, responding to our feedback (he always responds within 24 hours), and making changes.

I highly recommend!!!

Response from developer

I really appreciate all the actionable feedback I've received from you as well as this positive review. Transitioning from Lighterpack and having the collaborative features work was something I really wanted to achieve with Hikt. Reviews like this are a good reminder that listening and iterating actually works. Lots still in the pipeline, but we're getting there. Happy hiking!

A backpackers dream!

Realky helpful app for organizing backpacking gear. It’s simple to use and makes trip prep a lot easier. Definitely worth checking out!

Response from developer

Thanks for the love! Hikt is all about making managing your gear and packing lists both easy and exciting. Looks like the Lighterpack list import you did worked well. Hope this helps you pack everything on your next trip! If you have any feedback or ideas please reach out to support@hikt.app. Happy hiking!

Not Ready for Users

Trying to evaluate - Love the idea and looks promising, but…. I use PackLight app on my iPhone, but want an app i can use on both my iPad and iPhone. Hikt claims it will import CSV which I can export from PackLight but will not process file. I would still re-input all my data if Hikt worked well both on iPad and iPhone. Unfortunately, it does not display consistently on iPad. I was going to try to work with developer, but the App Support link is dead. At $40/Yr, I would expect a flawless app.

Edit: These have all been fixed now. Thanks for taking the time to write this feedback and sorry we failed to meet your expectations. I took an initial look at the CSV import functionality. Looks like the CSV file that PackLight app creates has all kinds of other data and is not easily machine readable. In the import modal there's a hint on what the CSV contents should be and per my testing this should work fine. Edit: I have now deployed version 1.8.0 which will introduce PackLight import and better iPad support though I will continue work on the latter. Thanks for bringing these issues to my attention! I hope you're still open to testing Hikt out now that these issues are fixed. Feel free to reach out to me directly via email at support@hikt.app if the PackLight import doesn't work as expected. Note that you can also upload CSV's in the web app at https://my.hikt.app which then syncs directly to your phone. Happy hiking!
