Fantastic
We used this app from Texas to Taos New Mexico. While my husband drove, I would look for historical markers and read them to him. Even when they’re not close to the road, you can still read them from the app. It kept us busy and it was fun to learn his historical information on the area.
Waste of money
I was so excited for this app but I basically flushed money right down the toilet! Anytime I click on something for more information, it crashes.

It’s still a great idea; sorry it turned out to be unworkable to maintain. Sure was a step up from low at official state highway maps for approaching markers or worth a detour… Helpful while it worked; deleting the excess 2.5M …

I paid for this???
So the app doesn’t work, any markers you’re interested in, when you click on the map for info, the app force closes, want to go into settings, nope, app force closes. Don’t buy this app.
Misses so many
I like the format. But we pass many markers that don’t appear in the app. Going to look for a more complete listing

I have had this app for a few years. I can no longer open any links. My phone is new and software is kept updated.

Several years ago, this was such an amazing resource for reading about state and national-level historical markers. Simple and easy to use.

Hi maritimeseven. Have no fear, I'm working on an update! I really do want to keep the app uptodate, as I use it myself all the time. I'm hoping to have the new version ready in a week or two and it'll include a comprehensive update to the marker database as well.
Great idea but the app needs to fix some bugs
I’ve had a very difficult time getting the markers to open when tapping on the pin on the map. Some open the first time while many others don’t open at all. If this is resolved I’ll be much happier as I love the idea of this app
App is not working properly!
Please update the app! When you click on a pin in map view, a faint outline of a box appears. It’s a toss of the dice as to whether or not the marker description will open on a new screen. This app USED to be great; please fix it!

Good, but bug...
I was excited to get the app today but discovered a major flaw. Every marker I click on pulls up an almost invisible bubble outline. It took me a while to even see it and then took much longer to realize these bubbles are suppose to be text filled to allow me to see what I clicked. Clicking on the near invisible bubbles does take me to the desired page, but the process is needlessly difficult. Either clicking on the marker itself should open the page, or the bubbles should be more obvious with text. Can this please be fixed, as it is clearly a bug? Thank you.
*As a side note, I have sent this as an email to support and have since gotten 3 “failure to send” notifications over the past week. This means the email you have set on the support page does not work properly.

Historical Markers
I have trouble when I touch the marker icon making it pop up. It used to work better but it’s terrible now.
Good, but needs update
This app is sufficient for my needs and I have found a lot of markers I would of otherwise not known. However the app is very buggy and clearly needs and update though it is mainly usable.

Great app, but needs an update!
This app is great, but it needs an update—there are almost 100k historical markers in the database now and the app only shows around 75k.
Disappointed
Downloaded this while driving through Texas/south towing our RV. The roadside historical markers were of interest but not practical to pull over for. Figured this app would be the answer, not so much. We've reached NV now and finally it has some roadside markers that show up for us to read while driving by. Needs additional roadside entries.

Best of the history apps
I've tried just about every historical marker app on the app store and this one is by far the best. It's easy to use and works as described. I'm using the app with my iPhone 7 with iOS 10.1 and it seems to work fine, so not sure what all the negative comments are about.
Update Fixed Recent Bug With iOS 10
The most recent update fixed the bug that prevented the app from being used in iOS 10 that people are complaining about in the comments. I've used the app on and off for a few years and the developer has always been quick to fix these kinds of problems. Overall it's a fun app if you like hunting for historical markers.
