This is a niche app designed to store and preserve Safari browser history. ===== Why Develop This App ===== As an Apple user, I only use Safari as my browser. One day, in an effort to thoroughly clean up the junk in Safari browser, I decided to export all the history records of Safari and then delete all the data of Safari at once... OK, it's all taken care of perfectly. However... When I opened Safari again and tried to import the history, I was completely shocked by the result: The import function in macOS always loses some data, and the import function in iOS/iPadOS is even worse, only importing the records from the last month! This is unacceptable for me, who heavily uses the browser. I'm not someone who likes to take notes; instead, I simply browse through the browser history when needed. However, the Apple ecosystem has explicitly refused to import all of my records. I naturally couldn't change Apple, so I simply took matters into my own hands and created this app. ===== Functions and Features ===== • Import the Safari browser history and it doesn't matter how long it is. • Supports export in multiple formats, and can be easily transferred to other devices or browsers at will. • Support the encryption of the export in HistoryLib’s own format, providing an additional layer of protection for your privacy. • Data can be fully synchronized with iCloud automatically. For multiple Apple devices, only one modification is needed, and there is no need for manual import or export. • Supports completely offline operation. The complete code is all open source on GitHub. Your privacy will always be secure. ===== Suitable Scenarios ===== • Dislike the privacy protection of the existing browsers and cloud synchronization • Don't want others to see the history records, but don't want to delete them all directly • Have exported good history records locally, but there is no suitable tool to view them, and don't want to import them back into the browser • ...
