Absolute waste of time
Why offer this app if it doesn’t work or connect to people? Waste of time, bad enough purchasing a smart tv to only find 6 months later hitachi stopped making them and withdrew all support
Smartvue app
Unfortunately, I downloaded the smartvue app so I could use smart life to control my tv.
Now, I have a large smartvue sign right across my tv screen.
I’ve tried everything, I have unlinked it you would think it went onto your phone.
I’ve tried everything to get rid of it but nothing works can anyone please help get rid of it.

Outdated don’t waste your time
Last updated 4 years ago! Absolutely terrible, nothing works. You should not advertise the app on your newer tvs if it doesn’t function and has no purpose.

Used to work, hasn't worked for at least a year now, so much for being a reputable company - more like a bunch of clowns, wont bother with anything else from hitachi, usb and hdmi1 ports packed up after 12months and now the app failed - cant even get basics right

Crashes trying to set up Alexa control
Connects to TV ok but when you try and add a user friendly name for Alexa it crashes. Daughter is gutted!

Alexa keeps saying OK!! The app freeze and doesn’t connect at all. Rubbish!!!

Got a new hitachi smart tv. Trying the app out and it is not at all functional. Wont connect to tv. Freezes on a load screen and am failing to connect with Alexa. Looks like updates and work on this app is needed. Concept is great, but execution is poor.

What are you guys doing over there stop watching the pandemic and fix the app people are buying your products and cant integrate them with alexa or google home because you want us to buy more hitachi products. Stop it pay attention the app doesnt work at all it cannot connect although its on the same wifi and i dont see the option to add skill to echo dot alexa because your app is crap. It doesnt even reorient itself so you have to slide turn your phone sideways its just a mess. Do you not care anymore about your customers who are probably using tvs more than ever now hoping they didn’t just buy a not so smart tv from Hitachi .. get your heads out of you assess even if corona virus you should have very intelligent stay at home computer wizards to help you fix something so critical to the functionality of the iot and keeps you hitachi as a competitor in this market. After this experience i want to return your no so smart tv and get one that might work more seamless with alexa or even google home. Oh yeah take down that youtube argos help video it’s misleading doesnt help especially when hitachi app is dog doodoo!

Doesn’t connect to TV
Just update the app Hitachi, you have a duty + a name to uphold. It’s poor and something so simple should just be sorted. Keep people happy and your part. Do a god damn release!

Worked for a month or so! Now doesn’t connect to my tv to download channels and now Alexa doesn’t control it on command. Alexa says ‘ok’ but nothing happens!

Simply put, does not find TV and freezes on startup screen. Very disappointed and Hitachi have clearly given up on it (no updates for a year)
