About

Rec softball deserves better than a group chat, a spreadsheet and a scorebook in somebody's trunk. Hitline is one app for the whole thing: keeping score, running the league, knowing who is turning up on Thursday. Everything a league needs is free, for everybody on it — scoring, schedules, standings, brackets, rosters, invitations, availability and team chat. No cap on competitions and no charge for organizing. Organizers do the hard part already. A SCOREBOOK THAT WORKS LIKE THE PAPER ONE Batters down, innings across. You never choose who is up — you read down the column and tap the square, the way you would with a pencil. The edge of each square says what the batter did — on base, home run, sacrifice, out, dead ball out. The inside says whether he came round to score, which is what a book gets read for. Every outcome a book records, from a single to a double play. Who scored, chosen from the men already on base — one tap, without going back to anybody's square. Undo anything. Only tracking your own side? Type the other team's runs per inning and leave their squares empty. The book works at both levels of effort. It adds up to the full box score — eighteen columns, both teams, plate appearances through dead ball outs. THE RULES YOUR LEAGUE ACTUALLY PLAYS - Home run limits, with one over the cap costing an out or the inning — your choice, and the app scores it - Double-headers as pairs, venue alternating so each side gets last at-bat RUN A LEAGUE WITHOUT THE ADMIN Tell it which days you play and it writes the whole round robin — or publish the schedule yourself. - Standings derived from results, never typed in - Divisions, ranked separately, when a league is big enough for them - Playoffs seeded off the final table: one game, or best of 3, 5 or 7 - Every season kept, with a dropdown back through the years - Scores confirmed by the other side, settled automatically if nobody objects Tournaments too: single or double elimination, an optional group stage to seed it, byes handled, winners advancing on their own, a champion at the end. KNOW WHO IS TURNING UP One tap each from the roster — in, maybe, out — and a board showing who has not answered. Propose a new date and have the other manager accept it. Every team gets a chat room, so the fixture and the conversation about it live in the same place. OR JUST KEEP YOUR OWN TEAM'S RECORDS Plenty of managers want the stats and nobody else in the league does. Track only your own players, skip the opposition's batting order, and turn off waiting for the other side to confirm. Substitutes count: someone's brother filling in on Thursday goes in the box score with no account, and it becomes his history the day he signs up. THE SEASONS FROM BEFORE THE APP Paper scorebooks do not have to stay on paper. Type up an old season and the men who played it claim their own careers from an invite link — one tap, and a decade of statistics becomes theirs. STATS THAT FOLLOW YOU Batting average, OBP, SLG, OPS, total bases and every counting stat behind them. A season-by-season trend, your career across every club you played for, and leaderboards for any league or team you follow. Change teams and it all comes with you. Follow a player, a team, a league or one fixture, and your home feed carries what is live, what is next, and what just finished. HITLINE PRO Optional and yearly. It adds depth about your own play, never anything your team depends on: - Advanced Stats — head to head against every club you have faced, who you hit best and worst, your form and streaks, and what happens when you swing - Year in Review — your season as one shareable card: the line, your best day, your longest streak, and who drove you in - Export to CSV, and typing up a past season Pro is for the player who wants to know more about himself. Everything a league runs on stays free. Terms of Use: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/
