Horrible app I’ve tired signing up multiple times and yet non stop comes up with an error this needs to be fixed asap
Doesn’t even work anymore
EDIT 2: Welp it’s been a LONG time since I last used this app and tried to login again. I get a repeated error saying “There was an error connecting to Hive’s backend” now. So I guess the app is officially dead.
EDIT: They finally added music yay! It’s broken too 😶 I can’t attach screenshots or I would, but for literally months I’ve been unable to edit the songs on my profile. There’s one song box that’s whited out and I can’t even attempt to edit it. And as other reviewers have stated, the owner of this app couldn’t care less about the users and you won’t get a response for support. Trash trash trash app. Just give up already.
The app went down in November or December for security concerns and came back after a few weeks but when it returned all the features were broken. They asked for patience given that they are a small team and I understand that completely. However I don’t understand why every time an update is coming, the team lies to the users about which features will be returning. The music feature to this day is STILL broken, for instance, and they’ve promised its return with nearly every update. The CEO of Hive who goes by Ralucca on there even posted a news article that praised the music feature as one of the things that sets Hive apart… HELLO? You don’t even HAVE that feature anymore!! What are you even DOING?

No support
My log in credentials stopped working. When I reached out to Hive support, I never got a response. Disappointing since I really wanted to support the app.
Internal Errors
Tried to create an account and all I get is internal error warnings. I don’t think this app works anymore.

was here when everyone moved from twitter to hive and deleted the app redownloaded just now and won’t let me log back in

Tried to create an account ….. constant errors. I tried various ways more errors .not worth the headache to even create an account.
Useless if you can’t log in
Unable to even set up an account to log in. It freezes on that screen and goes no further. Perhaps an ios26 issue

I tried to create an account and I tried using email, google, apple, and phone number and neither of them worked. All it says is that it is an internal issue.

Reset password and getting an error message telling me “it’s you, it’s me.”

I tried logging in with my details, and it told me that no account with that email exists and I should try making a new one. No thanks.
Had potential
It’s a shame this app is dead, i tried it as a Twitter alternative when it came out. The UI was nice and it seemed like it was going to be an app that stuck around. It had potential but died. Try Bluesky if you want a good alternative

Hive is dead
I have not been able to access the service since January of 2025. It was good while it lasted.

the app refuses to work currently and I see someone else mentioned it’s in the process of updating so this is some cheerleading along the sidelines haha! I started using this app a bit over four years ago and I neeeeed to see what was on here and start using it again. it always felt very comforting and relaxed and like a journal and I’d really like to have that again
