Doesn’t capture trip information

It does not capture round trips to and from work half the time. It also likes to randomly log me out, causing me to have to keep signing in. This is a great idea, but it feels like it was built in a rush with little attention to detail.

Response from developer

We're very sorry you experienced the random log out bug, which has recently been fixed. If you still experience the problem, please contact us directly so we can work with you to get it fixed. To contact us, select More -> Contact us. Also, the missing trips problem is related to the log out issue, so the recent fix should help with that as well. If you have additional problems please contact us and we'll do our best to fix it.

Very clunky app

It frequently signs me out without warning and the trip auto-record sometimes turns off on its own. Very frustrating to use as a commuter app that you have to constantly tinker with to be useful.

Response from developer

We're very sorry you had this problem, it appears a small number of other users are had a similar problem. We have just identified the issue and an update is coming soon in version 10.9.0.

Needs better explanation

Neither the app nor the App Store provide a satisfactory explanation of how the app works for me to want to sign up. I don’t care about the rewards, at least not yet. I want to know how the community and network are built, what checks and balances are in place to assure the safety of its users. Finally, the app discloses that it’s fully funded with federal and local matching funds. So far such investment doesn’t appear to be a wise use of taxpayer dollars. I may change my mind if I learn of improvements, but deleting for now.

I saved enough for a day at the spa

I’m a huge data girl, so tracking my trips and seeing that I saved $272 dollars (really enough for one spa service, not a whole day at the spa haha) and planted 6 trees with the emissions I saved by taking the bus and walking is cute. I feel like a Sim. A few minor glitches, but overall I think it’s like your Apple Watch when you track your steps and workouts. Just a way to incentivize and make trips fun for the community. Thanks HNL Connect!

Already won a prize!

Got it last month and set it up to automatically track my daily commute — usually i walk to work. Thought I would have to wrack up enough points to enter the giveaways, but you actually get 1000 pts just for downloading. So I was able to win the palaka holo card! Now I’m seeing more giveaways pop up on the app, like AirPods. Since I’m commuting anyway, I might as well get rewarded for it haha

Home privacy, not so private

This app is a good idea, but there’s some things that haven’t been thoroughly thought through. When you use the app, it requires you to fill out your profile of where you live and where you’re heading to. It then shares your location of where you live and where you’re heading to do the public for the purpose of public transport. This means that if I needed a ride somewhere, I could find out if there’s someone nearby me that I could rides share with or someone could ride share with me. Of course you have to message a person, but it gives me a close enough proximity of knowing where you and where you might work, opening yourself to potential dangers that are overlooked. If you’re not concerned about your safety, and only about transportation, then this is a good app to use. If you’re more concerned about your privacy and protect protecting yourself from any potential threats, it’s best not to use this app.

Thanks for your review and we're very sorry you're not happy with the app. For carpool matching, we do need to know some address information. However if you prefer to not put your exact location you can enter a nearby location. You can also indicate in your profile that you are not interested in sharing a ride and you will not appear in any searches or on any map.

Deleting it actually

Not sure what purpose this app serves other than taking your personal data. I didn’t find the data or statistics useful at all as a daily commuter. Having to input your trip data becomes tedious after several days, just so the app can tell you how much money you’re saving on gas? I’m also convinced that no one actually wins the drawing prizes.

Response from developer

We're very sorry you're unhappy with the app. There are two different options to have your trips automatically recorded so you don't need to do this every day. If you need assistance, please just contact our support from within the all and we'd be glad to help.
