Scam for zero dollars
Did not let me connect my brain stems to the local hobo population. 10 years of planning for my evil scheme down the drain
No longer connects
Crashed when attempting to connect to a known-good mx2201 logger with a brand new battery.
I would give it 0 if I could.
The old app actually worked. Now I’m forced to use this garbage that fails configuration every time I try. It doesn’t tell me why. Why do companies do this, they always take something working and make it worse.
Communication Fails
I am having repeated failure in communication with a device that otherwise appears to be working properly. Can’t even update firmware on the device. Hoping an update is forthcoming to resolve.
Great app
User-friendly, a great in-field substitute for the Desktop software
Labeling error
Since the recent update all of my labeling I’ve assigned doesn’t hold or display. Only displays the serial numbers now… I’ve deleted the app and reinstalled it again with no resolve! This is the first issue I’ve had since owning 5 devices for the past 6 years. Thoughts on fix?
Progressively gets worse
Any chance developers are going to fix the data viewer which is now essentially non functional. Can’t resize/zoom and the axis text remains so tiny you have to guess what the values are anyway.
No use for Hobolink RX systems
This would be so helpful with our RX system. The web display is not helpful driving around in a ute with a laptop on your lap. App usability with our RX, not MX, system would be greatly appreciated.
Issue with apple app
Says datalogger is corrupt. Then ask to update firmware. When accepting it loses connection. Grabbed my android and downloaded hoboconnect and i was able to download firmware. Android app seems much more stable and no issues. Kick rocks with open toed shoes apple.
Come on
If you are going to make a product make sure that the user interface is user friendly. I don’t want to spend days trying to figure out how navigate the app.
Good, could be great
The devices are great(MX), and the app is not too bad, but I’m only giving the app a 3 because it doesn’t honour my devices date settings for a starter. It causes endless confusion in trying to interpret dates.
Frustrating
Adding my voice to the chorus of annoyed users who previously used HOBOmobile — the look is worse and the functionality is terrible. It saves the graph images to “the designated location” (which I never chose and couldn’t find for a while, rather than saving to my camera roll). The images don’t have the monitor’s nicknames/ID embedded which is insanely frustrating when putting them in reports (it doesn’t help just having it in the file name). You can’t delete old data. The colors for the graph readouts are reversed from HOBOmobile (temp used to be black and humidity blue, makes sense — now temp is blue and humidity green! it makes comparing graphs from both eras confusing). I had to update my phone which made the old HOBOmobile app unable to save data readouts when you close the app, and when I asked for support, their only answer was to change to this new app. It seems strange to put money into something that feels less functional.

Possible update bug
Since the update I am receiving an error message that downloaded files cannot be opened within the app and that the “file may be corrupt”, however my colleague - who also uses iPhone, but has not updated the app - is able to download and view the files as normal.
Why can’t I delete old data?
I STILL cannot delete old data. In their webinar last year, they said we could delete old data later in an update later last year, but STILL cannot delete old data!
This is absurd. I’ve never seen an app that collects data that won’t let you delete any of that data. I read the data every few days, a months worth at 1 reading per minute. That adds up to a lot of data that I don’t need, want, or will ever use again.

Horrible app that makes some Hobo models incompatible
I have been a long time user of ONSET Data loggers, and have over 20 loggers. To my surprise, this new Hobo connect app made a bunch of my loggers (MX1101, MX2302) incompatible and thus not working.
Customer service is prompt. However, I am still waiting for months for a patch in the app to make my MX1101 & MX2302 functional.

Pressure readouts don’t work properly
Horrible app. Pressure readouts are incorrect and the battery level icon is so small you can barely tell the battery level.
Update - even more worse than previous app
There’s no way to select multiple files and email them all simultaneously. Basic functionality that was super easy in HOBO Mobile, but apparently impossible in this. I don’t understand that design choice at all, but this app continues to astonish me in how bad it is compared to the previous offering.

Crashes on files bigger than 30kb
Works great with the Bluetooth connectivity with the MX model hobo logger but crashes when file above 30kb...which therefore makes it useless. Please update the app!!
Bricked device - terrible implementation
Got an MX 1101 which looked like it would be a cool device for tracking climate for a piano. First time I ran this software, it found the device and told me there was a firmware update. I clicked OK and the phone transferred about 2% of the update to the device and then lost the connection.
The device is now bricked and there doesn’t seem to be any way to fix it.
